Looking for any imput on a Losi Late Model Class,,, I would like to see it totally stock, even controller,,, any advice? I want to keep things stock for the Newbie,,, this is what it's all about for me, bringing new people in our hobby and not scare them off with a 300.00 buck controller, 200 buck speedo, 100 dollar brushless motor, 150 dollar lipo,,, get my point.

We run a Late Model class on our indoor carpet oval (155' - 160' run line). Our rules require the cars to be essentially stock. We do allow a few changes we which feel could be considered in the realm of normal tuning to adjust the car to the track / driver's style. Rather than type them out here, this is a link to the latest revisions on our website: http://www.fastlanehobby.com/view/?id=47

You'll see we recently decided to allow 4200kv Mamba motors with a restricted gear ratio. We found on our track that the stock motor performance fell off too quickly (usually less than 2 nights of racing) even when we kept motor temps at or under 105 degrees. We tested to make sure that the switch to the Mamba didn't give a performance advantage and reserve the right to alter the gear ratio rule if needed to keep the performance similar between the Mamba and the stock motor. The change lets guys decide whether to change stock motors every couple of weeks or switch to the Mamba and just race. A pay now or pay later kind of thing.

Hope you have as much fun running these things as we are.
