WOW! M2 Machines "Auto-Thentics" Wave 3 is BREATHTAKING!
Again…pictures are the ONLY way to best describe these incredible little jewels. Still…the features of opening hood, detailed engine, die cast chassis, opening doors, awesome rubber tires, separate rims and clear headlight lens…wow. Then…the two tone paint jobs…chrome hood ornaments The only 1:64 replicas that came close to these IMHO were the Racing Champions Mint Editions or the Ertl American Muscle series that came out a decade ago…and at that time cost almost twice as much as the M2 in today’s dollar. I am hearing that due to the increasing costs of manufacturing in China that these replicas will be soon seeing a price increase. Until them…I’m really enjoying them.

Anybody know how many of the 1957 For Fairlane chrome chase cars are being produced. Found one today at Wal-mart. The detail is excellent. I can't wait until they make some Mustangs.

Here's the answer Sean from M2 gave over at Joe's:

"First off we are calling the chrome cars Limited Editions. These cars are produced at less than 400 pieces. The Clear Clearly Auto-Thentics cars are also produced at less than 400 pieces."

Couple of points.
First, in Clearly Authentics, only the clear 54 Bel Air with clear seats, is a Chase, not the clear Pontiac or clear 57 Ford.
Second, according to M2, TRU is the only mass retailer outlet. Not sure how one showed up at a Walmart.
Follow-up : just read another post that their Walmart had pegs set up for Autothentics. Guess they changed their minds.

Hi Guys. Roy thanks for the great photos and everyone else for the kind words about our product. I would like to answer a few questions.

1. Anybody know how many of the 1957 For Fairlane chrome chase cars are being produced. Found one today at Wal-mart. The detail is excellent. I can't wait until they make some Mustangs.

Yes, as someone stated earlier, there are less than 400 produced of the chrome Auto-Thentics. Another note, the 1957 Ford Fairlane is our very 1st chrome Limited Edition car we ever produced. So congratulations on finding it on a peg. We want the special cars to make it out to the pegs so collectors can find them.

2.Couple of points.

Yes, the 1954 Chevy Bel Air in Clearly Auto-Thentics release 1 is the chase car. This one is a little more difficult to tell from the normal clear. If you ever find clear with clear interior seats, dash & clear engine...buy it. This is the Clearly Chase car. Once you see one it becomes easier to identify.

TRU is was our very first mass retailer. We should be showing up in more Wal-Marts soon and some other mass retailers in the future.

FYI-
Auto-Thentics
release 1 Limited Edition (chrome) - 1957 Ford Fairlane
release 2 Limited Edition (chrome) - 1953 Oldsmobile 98
release 3 Limited Edition (chrome) - 1955 Desoto Fireflite

release 3 Chase (black & gold - 1st issue) - 1954 Dodge Coronet

Clearly Auto-Thentics
release 1 chase (clear-clear seats, dash & engine) - 1954 Chevy Bel Air
release 2 chase (clear-clear seats, dash & engine) - 1954 Mercury Sun Valley

Thanks, Sean

I also want to say THANK YOU ROY !! for the great pics ..
I'm waiting for my pre-ordered 6-pak to arrive ..

Now , what future releases are coming?

From previous posts a few months ago , there a will be a 49 Merc, 59 Caddy , 58 Chevy , a 50 Olds 2dr Sedanette, If the pics of cars included on their packaging are indications of the ones to be released down the road , I see glimses of 57 Dodge , 57 Merc , 58 Ford , and a 57 Plymouth ... I hope so,,,,,,,,,

How about something from 1956 ??? There are plenty of beauties from that year .. Mopar , GM and Ford . or something really impressive such as a Packard or Clipper..
