Results for Money Race held on Sunday, August 3.

It was more like a party and a race rolled into one. Gary's helicopter stunt show was absolutely unreal and Gabby's souped-up brushless/lipo Stryker demonstration probably violated all sorts of FAA regulations!

Three classes were run on the dirt oval: Electric Buggy, Nitro Monster Truck, and Unlimited Nitro Buggy. All heats and mains were standing start, one-on-one Chicago match race style, ten laps. Winners underlined.

Electric Buggy

Congrats to Jim W. for his win in the Monster Truck Main, he put on a good show. In the Buggy Main he was glued to my rear bumper all the way. With one to go, I decided to dive down for the moisture in turn one to try to shake him but caught a little rut, bicycled it, saved it and never let off. In the dark to boot! I got to do a Polish victory lap in honor of the late Ronnie Runyon. Great race Jim!

Overall, the Chicago match race style was easy on equipment, easy on fuel, big on strategy and excitement. The race format rewarded precision and speed. Perhaps the Mains should be 20 laps next time. 10 laps seems right for the heats. This Sunday its back to "all run" Mains. :dude:

Great competition at the Hoop on Sunday! Everybody just keeps getting faster and faster. A discharged receiver pack caused the 41 car to have a spectacular crash in the main, end-over-end about 25 times the length of the straightaway. Like another old saying goes, we'll get 'em next time. :dude:

Another night of great racing at the HOOP.Thanks to roger for his hard work in making the track the best I've seen it yet, Smooth as a baby's bottom and sticky as glue. That revo rent-a-truck was hooked up,the only way I could get around it was to dive under it coming off of turn 4.Everyone is so evenly matched it makes for really exciting racing.See you guys on the carpet wed.

Jim C gets faster every week. Nobody passed the 41 all day until the GS Storm "achillies heel" reared its ugly head again (broken front control arm). Snapped the LF control arm for the umpteenth time on the inside tile getting greedy in turn one. Need some lights down there...

See ya'll at the final Pit Road bashfest on Wed.

It was kinda of a sad FINAL race night at Pit Road, gonna miss that place... Gabby TQ'd and won both the 13.5 ORT and 10.5 classes. It was fun to watch him and Jim C. put it on Kenwood in 10.5. I TQ'd in the final Legend and Sportsman (breakout) races. Like a goofus I broke out on the first lap of the Sportsman main going for a perfect page of 4.5s but a good guy, John W. ended up winning. The best part of the night was when I also got to put it to Kenwood in the Legends Main, when his very much abused spec pack dumped on the last lap- passed him on the final turn and won by 0.01 sec- what a race! Legends are by far the most fun and challenging RC race cars...

Betwen the thunder, the rain and on-track competition it was a wild one! Jim C took another one after the 41 flamed out- one lap too many- out of fuel in the main. Jim W's car is just a tick away from being the fastest, keep up the good work. Sorry 'bout the little bump there- like they say- its just racing... Keeps getting better and better at Gabby's Hoop!

Another great day of racing at the "Hoop"Everbody was super fast as the track was best I ever seen it since I redone it this year.Robyn Roby took first place in 1/8 buggy class a-main this week, he looked the best I've ever seen him do.His buggy was super fast and hooked up.I ran my rx pack down so low before the main it didn't have enough juice to turn that big servo.Jim Workman your buggy was also hooked up looking good. You and me had us a good race.Thad you are just going to have to get you some more pinch in that tired old motor. Then look out.Jim workman took the checkered flag in monster truck class a-main.Way to go:dude: guys.Hope to see everyone next week. Also Daryl's transponder system went for $3252.88 WOW who would of ever thought.

Well we raced today despite the high winds blowing dust in our faces.Track was excellant.I finished 4th out of 5 carpet racing.I've still got to do some more work on my car.Monti took it and basicly rebuilt the front end.It drove like a caddy then.I was 4 laps slower than everone else.John Foister,Eli,Sean,Monti and my self 10.5 4 cell.John went 3.84's with 58 laps to win.I went 54 laps.Still was a blast those guys are great and more than willing to help.Top notch place were else could a guy go and race with that many proven champions.Wow!Your canopy came down not much left I've got it in a pile for you.See you next week end if you make it.Don't know if I will be able to go to Akron or not yet.I'll let you know:thumbsup:

What's the weather supost to be like sunday?I can only get one day off this weekend.I can either go to cincy on saturday or the HOOP on sunday.I leaning towards the Hoop, its been about a month and I'm jonesing for some dirt action.I need to get back down there and give Robyn his shock back, and Jim his fuel bottle.Sorry fellas I've been tied up at work.Last saturday was the first day off I've had in a month.I went to cincy and made a fool of my self.It looked like it was my first day r/c racing, spinning out and bouncing off the walls.I ran pinks out there and had the same problem I had when I tried running pinks at pitroad, really loose up front and then extremely tight at the end of the run.The only decent run I had was when I didnt dope the tires.I'm not sure how to fix that problem other than switching to whites.
Hope to see you guys soon, later Jim.

Jim C. -How fun was getting your doors blown at Cincy? Those 10.5 (open mod?!) boys down there take it way too seriously... So bring it the 'Hoop, don't forget Andrew and Tom. There will be plenty of carpet racing all winter but only one last Money Race and Party rolled into one at the 'Hoop in 2008.

From Intellicast.com- Kenton, Ohio weather details for Sunday, September 28: More sun than clouds. Highs in the upper 70s and lows in the low 50s. .. :dude:
