I know WHAT it is...but I can find no history or info on the ride it's self! I know the drivers and I belive it was mid 90's, but no REAL history. I found lots of "close" but not with the same sponsership.
This casting is by Minichamps with no real info on the box. Help me out guys, what is it?

According to wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_911_GT1), the car was designed for GT1 in 1996, but got redesigned headlights for 1997. Complete body re-design in 1998. Compare your car to the picture there of the 1996 headlights. Hope this helps.
Or just compare to the real thing at flickr (http://flickr.com/photos/42057291@N00/1063851918/). ;)
I think this is a 1997 car - the placement of the numbers concur with that year. However, in the FIA GT Championship, the cars carried #6 & #7, although, the Warsteiner sponsorship is correct.

At the 1997 Le Mans 24 Hours, the cars carried #25 & #26 - but, in the pics I can find, there are no Warsteiner decals & the mirrors are a different colour as is the Porsche decal at the top of the windscreen. At least two of the drivers agree - Wollek & Stuck - I can't read the third on the model, but, in the race it was Boutsen.

So. I'm not sure which race or series is represented!

The thrid driver is T. Boutsen. The car in the link that Karl posted looks pretty dead on, but where did it run? I stink at German! Maybe a sponser driven promo peice?

As all three drivers agree, I think it is supposed to be the #25 from LM 1997. In the FIA Championship, the races were much shorter, so only two drivers per car were used.
It is possible, the car ran in this form for testing, prior to the race itself.
