jefferson 08-03-2008, 05:14 AM yep, i'd like to scoop up the 10-car set myself. hard to believe the red mustang went for over $500.... dang.
SMS88 08-05-2008, 06:50 AM Worth every red cent too! Lots of folks want these and they are all vhtf, especially mint. There are 2 special colour racers in the gift set and the Mustang and Ferrari are 2 of the rarest transitionals, although an orange Superfast Mustang and a green regular wheels Ferrari are easily found for sensible money

i have paid less than $10 for the greater part of my collection, this includes many cars that I could easily sell for more than $10, so I would have to disagree, and there are some sellers asking more than $10 for playworn junk that few if any real collectors would ever buy.I can only say regardless of price, the car,its condition and manufacturer determine whether or not it is either or BOTH a toy and or a collectable, not the sellers asking price:wave:
cih1979 08-13-2008, 09:30 AM I think he means if you are willing to pay more than $10 for it, it makes it a collectible
BTW

karl-e 08-14-2008, 12:58 PM I don't think that it's that simple to determinate what's a collectible and what's not. There is much truth in the old saying "one mans trash is another mans gold"
I'm sure that I have stuff in my collection that some of you guys would consider trash - and I know that I have seen lots of items proudly presentet here on HobbyTalk and other sites too that i would call trash

I have an orange Ferrari that changes to yellow. Is that rare? I think it came from a set but it was a loonnnngggg time ago in a galaxy far, far away. I think it is a 308 but it may be a Testarossa. I have a whole case of vintage 70/80's Ferraris but I am sorry I do not want to part with any of them. I also have a case of VW's and a case of Porsche's too.
cih1979 08-14-2008, 04:34 PM the color changing ferrari if it says 308 is a HotWheel, and a nice car if i remember correctly
