What is the $ for the kit? LARCGuy 07-31-2008, 03:17 PM The Stryker kits are all hand cut and you can send an email for order info and turn around time to Randy Smith at bigboytoysrandy at yahoo dot com muddd 07-31-2008, 03:36 PM cool lookn whip man LARCGuy 07-31-2008, 05:06 PM Thanks! And runs awesome too :D Ginsu 07-31-2008, 06:06 PM I run the STRYKER and really like the way it handles. It's design lends itself well to Lipo racing but is equally at home with 4 cell NIMH batts. With the battery hold down system you will never have to use battery tape again. The car is very easy to get set up. In fact once I assembled mine I took it to my track and was able to place in the top three, having never run the car before. Go ahead and kick the tires, you won't be disappointed. abdule 07-31-2008, 06:44 PM can I see one put together with-out electronics or motor & wheels?, looks good!( maybe if you could place a Lipo where it would be mounted) if that is the bumper what is it made of ? EMK68 07-31-2008, 08:26 PM [quote=abdule the bumper what is it made of ?[/quote] Its made out of Kydex Good look with your new car looks VERY nice:thumbsup: Eric Knapp RCMits 07-31-2008, 09:55 PM I run the Stryker myself now and I msut say out of the box it is VERY easy to drive and sets up quite well. The BMI pod is flawless and works well, the cuts are flawless, and the car is a blast to drive. First time in a long time, I followed the setup sheet for my track, and I had a blast. A couple tweeks here and there.. and it was dialed. I combined mine with the HPI center shock, and Hotbodies side shocks, and rebuilding is almost a thing of the past. The lipo stuff fits perfectly (you may think its a tight fit, but it all fits). I was a "K" driver for almost two years, and decided to switch being I wanted to try a local chassis and support the local guy. Awesome! First time out, I made really great laptimes (faster than with my "K" car with same gearing). Sure, maybe my driving got better, but the car is that much easier to setup and drive. Very predictable. http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p118/RCMits/stryk.jpg This is with most of the stuff on (before the ESC, receiver.. etc.. it was a "in the middle of build" stage....and before i put on the HB side shocks). Note, I will be anodizing stuff, so I don't have random "blue" stuff on it. When building it take your time. Sand the chassis, and prep / glue the carbon. It'll come with a VERY nice side finish when you do. I'll post pics when I get time. A+ You all know I've been around hobbytalk for ages... so when I try a great product, I give it a thumbs up! Any questions, post up.. I'll try to answer what I can as well. Note: I drive really hard on my car (kamikaze style), and am one of those guys that don't change TOO much from race to race. I'll get a base feel during practice, and try to do little adjustments, but I never make big adjustments at the track... just the way I am. The LITTLE adjustments made to the car, did exactly what I told it to. Maybe I just got lucky with my setup... but really... it ran good. Seven 07-31-2008, 10:34 PM Here are a few pictures of my new Stryker. Still putting it together. Getting it ready for the fall carpet season. These cars are cut to order. Placed my order and had the car in hand in just over a week. Everything went together great and I can take a brushless motor out without taking off the top pod plate. With the upright servo design, I didn't have to drill any holes in the chassis. No more need for battery tape with the lipo battery brace. Can't wait to try it out. DOUGHBOY 08-01-2008, 12:25 AM i have only been racing for about a year now and i started with a darkside car then i switched to the rip car which i also really like. but when i got this car it was like my driving ability got twice as good. this car is freaking awsome TLCNUM3 08-01-2008, 10:42 AM There is more Pics and info at www.southwesttour.com click on message board then (Races, Set-ups and more) Click on New Stryker. I'm getting mine ready for carpet. I'm telling you this kit is awesome, top notch all the way. Scot and Randy are great all my questions have been answered quickly. If you want a car with product support here you are. Terry:thumbsup: RCMits 08-01-2008, 12:47 PM Do note, some of those pictures of the Stryker on SWtour was the "conversion" , and not the "FULL KIT". You'll notice it doesn't have the BMI pod etc... but yes.. good pics too ;-) LARCGuy 08-01-2008, 03:10 PM can I see one put together with-out electronics or motor & wheels?, looks good!( maybe if you could place a Lipo where it would be mounted) if that is the bumper what is it made of ? This is the only picture I have at the moment that shows the battery. Others will post I am sure. Blaser 08-03-2008, 01:20 AM I've had my new striker now about 3 months and love it. The fit and finish the best ever. I had trouble getting a Lipo car to handle right but this car worked the first time on the track turns well and stable can't ask for more than that. Bryan Blaser K.J.Price 08-03-2008, 11:44 AM I am very interested in one of these cars. Can anyone give me the price and how long it takes to get one i see where they are hand cut,And as far as to what all do i need to finish one like front end, hubs, axel and stuff like that. Keith trackdog 08-03-2008, 03:19 PM Does the BMI rear pod offer any rear steer adjustments? abdule 08-03-2008, 03:36 PM the servo mount is different! are the holes pre drilled or is it up to you ? J-Dub Racing 08-03-2008, 05:40 PM As far as I know they are pre drilled. Seven put in a 9551 servo. As for the kit it is a conversion, so you need a front end, rear axle/hubs, shocks and center shock mount etc. I cant wait to see these on the track, seems like a really good car. K.J.Price 08-03-2008, 06:32 PM As far as I know they are pre drilled. Seven put in a 9551 servo. As for the kit it is a conversion, so you need a front end, rear axle/hubs, shocks and center shock mount etc. I cant wait to see these on the track, seems like a really good car. They offer a 1/2 degree rear steer lower plate. trackdog 08-03-2008, 07:08 PM I seen on the swtour site they have a optional .5 rear steer bottom plate. The pricing there said 208.00 bucks shipped for the conversion. Seven 08-03-2008, 07:08 PM the servo mount is different! are the holes pre drilled or is it up to you ? The servo holes are pre-drilled and the kit comes with the 4 servo stand-offs. They are drilled for the Futaba 9550 & 9551 servo. Seven 08-03-2008, 07:13 PM Thanks for the info,Do ya have any idea as to what the price is goin to be? You can PM LARCGuy (Scot) or BigBoyT1 (Randy) for pricing and availability. Here is Randy's e-mail BigBoyToysRandy@yahoo.com . RCMits 08-03-2008, 10:15 PM If I am correct and Scot can chime in on this, they have steer plates so you can easily change it out. no slugs needed etc to change out... :-) LARCGuy 08-04-2008, 01:29 PM Awesome! Looks like everything's been answered. Ran mine in 21.5 this weekend and qualified P2 and finished P1 :D irvan36mm 08-06-2008, 11:18 PM LARCguy-You have a PM! LARCGuy 08-06-2008, 11:43 PM Replied, thanks. LARCGuy 08-09-2008, 02:58 AM My first foray into chassis designing was a velodrome car in 2004. The Velodrome Stryker in it's current form is one of the top performing cars at the Encino Velodrome here on the left coast. The Velodrome Stryker has gone through a significant evolutionary step the last few months and we will be debuting the new car Saturday (8/9/08) as the Southwest Tour heads back to the Drome for race #7 of the series. RCMits 08-09-2008, 11:44 AM go get-em cowboy! kick some velo booty! LARCGuy 08-12-2008, 01:26 PM Here are a few picture's of my personal Stryker. A few people have asked how I have mine laid out. Car is a stock kit with the addition of the .5 degree bottom plate. Stock AE front suspension with 12L castor blocks and aftermarket kingpins and 1/8" axles. Shocks are an HPI center and Cyclone sides and the rear assembly consists of a Windtunnel axle and IRS hubs. http://home.roadrunner.com/~petitclerc/scot/images/stryker_st_body_sm.jpg http://home.roadrunner.com/~petitclerc/scot/images/stryker_st_sm.jpg http://home.roadrunner.com/~petitclerc/scot/images/stryker_st_top_sm.jpg swtour 08-12-2008, 02:08 PM KSG is known as the BLUE team HyperDrive as the RED team I think the RAPTOR was PURPLE I know Scot likes his parts BLACK or POLISHED...so in the spirit of colors maybe the STRYKER will wear a BLACK HAT - "The DARK STRYKER" or "The Stryker Outlaw" TSR Team Stryker Racing RCMits 08-12-2008, 05:16 PM KSG is known as the BLUE team HyperDrive as the RED team I think the RAPTOR was PURPLE I know Scot likes his parts BLACK or POLISHED...so in the spirit of colors maybe the STRYKER will wear a BLACK HAT - "The DARK STRYKER" or "The Stryker Outlaw" TSR Team Stryker Racing I myself am more of a silver/chrome kinda Stryker driver ;-) *cough* ST_ODIE 08-12-2008, 06:00 PM Thanks Scott That must mean I'm a Stryker Owner Now Or am I the owner of 2 Stryker's Since my Velo truck chassis came from you too..... RCMits 08-12-2008, 08:11 PM hey scott,,,you arent posting any pictures when you say you are....unless they are in your gallery. i see the pictures ;-) AJS 08-13-2008, 06:10 AM I see the pictures as well. Racin'Jason 8 08-13-2008, 08:01 AM KSG is known as the BLUE team HyperDrive as the RED team I think the RAPTOR was PURPLE I know Scot likes his parts BLACK or POLISHED...so in the spirit of colors maybe the STRYKER will wear a BLACK HAT - "The DARK STRYKER" or "The Stryker Outlaw" TSR Team Stryker Racing Joe, Everyone knows that the Undertaker wears a "Black Hat". lol Seriously...this car looks like a well thought out piece. Sharp looking. How is parts availability? LARCGuy 08-13-2008, 02:31 PM Parts are plentiful, you just need to send an email with what you need and they get sent out. Very easy and hassle free. Larry B 08-13-2008, 03:15 PM Just wondering about the Kydex bumper and replaceing it at the track. Can you use another bumper ( KSG/HD ) on the car that a track my have in stock? TLCNUM3 08-13-2008, 03:18 PM Rumor has it there is going to be another Iowa driver jumping to the SRYKER this carpet season. They say strength in numbers!!!!!!! I know I'm ready to roll mine out. Thanks Scot and Randy for a great product. Terry:thumbsup: swtour 08-13-2008, 03:25 PM ...I'm NOT a STRYKER DRIVER... But, I can say - I probably SHOULD BE. This car has taken care of utilizing common setup adjustments and pretty much removed the much less used choices, and appears to be so much less confusing for a lot of people, thus helping them go quick right out of the box. Maybe one day soon - you'll see my KSG cars and Hyperdrive car end up in the RC Oval Sale Section (Maybe NEXT Season) ...maybe by then there will be some used ones for sale - LOL - since I've only ever owned ONE Brand New car (The original RC10L wide car). JASON - you seeing pics yet? They should be there - this is the URL for one of the pics he posted http://home.roadrunner.com/~petitclerc/scot/images/stryker_st_sm.jpg Racin'Jason 8 08-13-2008, 04:26 PM Do the four holes on the ESC tab allow a GTB to be bolted upside-down? TLCNUM3 08-13-2008, 04:37 PM Larry B I have actualy had the KSG bumper bolted on mine, but opted for the one that came with the kit. So I don't think a bumper will be a problem. Besides I think if ya hit something hard enough to break this bumper you'll be scambling for alot more parts. Terry CBear3 08-13-2008, 05:20 PM Do the four holes on the ESC tab allow a GTB to be bolted upside-down? If its like the CEFX car, yes...although when I did that to my CEFX I had to switch the sensor harness which was a messy proposition. Next time around, I'll drill through the bottom of the case, use a longer screw and capture the heat sink with a nut (making sure not to jack up the threads in the case...so that I could still use it on a car that didn't have this thoughtful ESC mounting pad). Lots of neat design touches on this car  RPM 08-13-2008, 08:56 PM Cool thread. I love racing my Stryker car. Would buy another car for sure! WLMaye 08-13-2008, 09:52 PM How does the Stryker stack up with Hangman chassis. Don't just tell me it's the best car in the world give me an honest opinion. Right now I am leaning toward the stryker but a lot of guys at our track run hangmans and they have been really fast. I'm going to be running 21.5 lipo and maybe mid season run some 17.5 lipo.
