Loved it as a kid. I found a crappy download from an old VHS and that satisfied my curiosity enough. Maybe a rental some day.

Cool - I think I signed an online petition for this.

I'll be curious to see how it holds up. I used to think Tim Thomerson was hilarious back then.

"There are no good plants, there are no bad plants, there are only...plants!"

"I am The Source, Quark! Trust me, trust me!"

I loved the one sequence where the crew are unconscious, and Quark lifts up one Betty's arm, and the other Betty's arm lifts up at the same time.

For the life of me, I cannot remember this series. I wonder if it will be worth getting. I have as much nostalgia for my childhood as anybody. But, most of anything from the 70's is really bad.

A friend told me about this yesterday, and I, too, am happy about it. I've had a downloaded copy for a few years, but am more than willing to replace it.

Now, if they would just get around to releasing Tales Of The Gold Monkey on DVD...

The show is not really that good but it was way before "Red Dwarf" or any other space-based sci-fi sit-com. I seem to recall that it was only a summer replacement show which is why there were so few episodes but no one had seen a show like it so it stuck in everyones memories. I'll be buying it too.

if they would just get around to releasing Tales Of The Gold Monkey on DVD...Yeah, that's one I'm really hoping to see. It was a shame it only lasted one season. From what I understand, it had pretty good ratings, but was cancelled because it was so expensive to produce.

One of my more recent favorites (very different from any mentioned in this thread so far) was just released this week -- Freakazoid!

Richard Benjamin creeps me out.

Yeah, I have a bootleg copy of the series, which ranges from watchable to, well, lets just say un-watchable.

And you can bet I picked up a copy of Freakazoid the minute it hit the shelves! One of my favorites!

There were some good little genre gags. Like every time Richard Benjamin beamed down he ended up in the middle of a pond or something.

I liked the ship shaped like Darth Vader's head.
:D

Looking forward to this coming out.

Richard Benjamin creeps me out.

A lot of people seem to feel this way, I hear it quite a bit. Maybe it's that wet mail-slot mouth, or the pre-Robin Williams hirsuteness. But I like him! Always have. Goodbye Columbus! Excellent. West World and The Last of Sheila other faves.

Well it's about time - I've had to make do with those lo-res WMV eps from the Net

Now if they'd just release Werewolf on DVD I could die happy.

It was kind of an oddball, because the pilot aired in the spring of '77 and there was about a year between the pilot and the series. At the end of the series' run, NBC re-ran the pilot. Yeah, at the END.

It also ran for a short time on Comedy Central in the mid- to late-eighties.
