View Full Version : Question on the new VW Taxi
Dadvball 07-30-2008, 10:13 PM Why on earth did they do it in the same green & white combo as the Hero City version? I haven't bought the new one yet, but I do have the HC one. From what I have seen in pics, the graphics are slightly different, wheels are different, and the bumpers are not painted green. They almost look to be metal (is it a metal base?). Almost makes me think they had a ton of green & white VW's hanging around left over from HC and just decided to do them as taxis again.

It is a gray plastic base. We could only wish for the metal bases to make a comeback.
It does look a lot like the HC Taxi but as a VW collector I still had to have it.

I hear ya. I'll have to pick one up as I'm a taxi collector (and some what of a beetle nut as well ). I just would have preferred a different color.

I hear that the '66 Mustang this year has a metal base.

Here are a few pictures of the 3 VW Beetles Matchbox have made in green/white together.

I suppose it was done in a similar color scheme again as it was so popular in Mexico in that design.
