For anyone who hasn't been to storm steel this year I'll try and give some updates as to what the setups are going towards.

The grip level is down a little from last year so we've had to tighten our cars up quite a bit. A bi-level wing is helpful so have one of those in your box.

Tires i've been running are pink rears and blue fronts, nets on the right and prolights on the left, full stagger rear, half stagger front. You might want to have a green for the LF and maybe a blue for the RR depending on how the temps end up and how your car is working.

Gearing for the 10.5/17.5 lipo class has been in the 2.30-2.40 range (gear ratio) and for the 13.5/21.5lipo class has been in the 1.90 to 2.00 range.

Hope everyone can make it, if anyone has any questions, post here and someone will get you an answer as quick as possible.

Will you guys let Lloyd in IA?
The weight for 21.5 is 42oz? Do I need to feed my car some of that IA corn?
Hey Kelm, my car is black, silver and yellow so you may want to bring some heavy duty touch up materials.

I don't know about the weight, but we'll let Lloyd in the great state of Iowa, but he should be very careful though.

Ya what is the weight for a NiMh and a lipo. Hays I'll pay for this but we could sprinkle some corn around the edges of the track while you are eating some grass

I don't really know what the weight is supposed to be for Lipo. What do they run at Tri-Clone?

Maybe you can get something to eat the corn about 10 feet in all the way around and trim the grass to 1/2". I would be covered then.
We run 41oz for the Lipper cars at the Tri-Clone

I thought your car was all green last year.

Oh wait, that was all the grass that was on it from the infield.:D

Danny are you going to do the 1 min qual again this year?

I don't think it's necessary. With 4 rounds of qualifying we should be able to get ourselves sorted out.

So who's all coming this weekend? Hays? Will we see the silver fox hiding in the grass ready to pounce? Kelm? Will he put away whatever he's doing this summer and make his debut at SS?

Looks like the classes will be 4-cell 17.5 and 4-cell 13.5/Lipo 21.5...

Alright guys,

There has been some discussion.

And we have decided to cut this year's race down to a 1 day event.

Here's what the agenda looks like.

Gates Open at 8am.

Open Practice til 12:30pm. First race at 1PM. 3 rounds of qualifing and then Mains. We should be done and out of there by 6pm at the latest.

There will still be awards and such. LRT is providing the awards.

Entry Fee will be $15 first class, $5 second class.

I really hate changing things a few days before the race. But with the expected crowd, there isn't justification for a 2 day event this year.

I hope everyone will still come out on Saturday and have an Awesome time.

Thanks
Danny B.
