A Roar membership is required for this event, yes.
You are correct. You must be a member of ROAR to race in any of their events. A single event/day membership is available from ROAR. Also all ROAR rules and guidelines will apply to this event. ROAR, and our goal is for this to be a fun event at the Premier R/C track in the West Michigan area. ROAR was also very excited to bring this regional event back to Michigan after a long time outside the state. We look forward to this opportunity and want to make this THE EVENT of the year.

Even better, ROAR will be present at the event. We will leave the sign ups for this to the professionals! Also, it will be nice to have them around for any questions or issues that may come up. We want this to run smoothly.

Thanks Duke, we are very excited to host this event also. Its good for this area to get such a high profile event under its belt again. I would hope you drag a few of your racers (and yourself) over for this, how often do you get to race in a ROAR event so close to home.

I believe Terry mentioned it was $15 for the single event membership or $30 for a year membership.

What is Super Stock Truck?

Tdevil
07-27-2008, 11:06 PM
If I am not mistaken, it is 10.5 brushless, 13.5 brushless or 19T brushed, your choice for 2008.

Stock is 17.5 brushless or 27T

What is Super Stock Truck?
I believe this year ROAR calls Super Stock 19 Turn brushed motors, brushless 13.5 and brushless 10.5 or equivalent electric motors. (Just like Tdevil said)

Hey Revo will the limit the amount of entries? Hope not but just need to ask. Can't wait to Race this event. Must of been those sweet pics you had:thumbsup: LOL

REVO-Beat-U
07-28-2008, 01:50 PM
I dont think there would be a limit on the number of entries unless it got way out of hand and would require more than a two day event. Our goal here is to have a full day of racing on Saturday, and if we can we will finish Saturday. If we get over 100 entries chances are its going to run into Sunday, but if this is the case we hope to be done mid-morning or early in the day Sunday so everyone can be home at a decent hour. Like I said, we want this to be fun for everyone. Hanging out at a track for 48+ hours over a weekend is not what I would call fun. We want this to run smoothly and be done as quick as possible. Glad to hear you are going to be down for the event. Looking forward to it.

Can we sign up earlier than race day?
Yes, I will have a flier for this event done shortly, it will have a sign up form on it. ROAR should have a sign up form on their web site for this event soon I would hope. I am going to say we should be ready to start taking pre-race sign ups in the next 7 - 10 days. The one saving grace we have going for us is we have two months to prepare for this all. Plenty of notice for this event thank goodness. When the form is ready, I will make sure to announce it.

Will do. I will also post links so you can download them from our web site. Hope to see a good group of you guys from the East side over here for the event. We have worked out a deal with a hotel that is one mile from our track for around $32 a night in case you dont want to camp out. Trying to hook you guys all up for this race.

You say Camp out! Will there be room for R/Vs and over night camping?

You say Camp out! Will there be room for R/Vs and over night camping?
I will let Tdevil (the track owner) answer this for sure. But from what I am aware of the entire parking area around the building will be open for overnight camping. Space may be limited, but I think there will be some room.

Uncle E
08-01-2008, 10:06 AM
So Friday night we can race in the scheduled club race?

Tdevil
08-01-2008, 12:00 PM
I will work on the camping issue. There is not a problem with the room, just to make sure we don't have any problems with the city on that one.

Friday night will be a regular club race event under the lights. There will be a separate race fee to participate in the Friday night program. Details will follow as we get closer to the event.

I know ROAR requires hard cased batteries for lipo users. I have heard something about using lexan. Is this true? and what do they mean with lexan?

FishRC
08-01-2008, 03:40 PM
Only hard case ROAR approved LiPo and any ROAR approved NiMH. The Lexan thing is only in the MORL series.

ROAR rules apply, Lipo sacks are recommended.

Fred Knapp
08-01-2008, 04:41 PM
The Region 5 director said if you have them they like you to use them, but he is not going to kick you our or anything if you don't have one. So the political answer I guess would be the lipo sacks are recommended but not required, hows that for dancing around a question?

Nice two step.

Hi Everyone,

Just two quick reminders for you all. First, please do not forget to bring your ROAR cards with you to the race. It is your responsibility to provide and prove your ROAR membership. No card, no race unless you purchase a daily/event pass for $15. Sorry no accetptions.

Second, no matter what the weather conditions we will be racing. If it rains we can go indoors and run on that track. So weather is no excuse not to come and race with us.
