Does anyone know if the series 2 Shelby Cobra came in zamac/raw finish? Take a look, you think this auction is legit:

rufus macdoogle 07-26-2008, 04:38 AM you'd want to check if it's raw or has silver paint.
a bit of back story to this one, i saw the specs for this before it was produced, and it was meant to be produced in raw, but then the example i have (which i haven't pulled out of the package) appears to be painted silver.
anyone pulled it out of the package?
looks silver on the website... http://www.musclemachines.com/the-line-up.html if it is truly raw i'd be surprised.

All the ones that I came across are painted silver with blue stripes. This one on e_bay is described as "raw with no stripes", could be a prototype, a custom, or misrepresentation by seller.
Did the original plans call for raw without stripes or raw with stripes?
FLOYDFROG 07-26-2008, 04:52 PM My cobra appears to be painted. Here are some pics along side a raw Chevelle

rufus macdoogle 07-26-2008, 06:53 PM original plans called for raw with stripes painted on, but the new factory in china, doesn't seem to have believed that anyone would spec an unpainted surface on the body, so just matched the color on the diagrams which naturally looked fairly close to the color of raw.

It looks like clear coated aluminum.
Guys, I know what the regular release is. I was curious about the guy selling on E_Bay (http://cgi.ebay.com/2008-Muscle-Machine-1964-Shelby-Cobra-Raw-Series-2-VHTF_W0QQitemZ140252750430QQihZ004QQcategoryZ45358 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) what he claims was a raw Cobra with no stripes from allegedly Release 2. I ultimately passed on the auction, so I guess we'll never know if that was a legit raw car, a custom, or a total fraud.
ECchopper 07-28-2008, 09:58 AM I'm thinking the seller was just mistaken. He believed the car was unpainted because it does kinda look raw. And the white sidepipes add to the raw look.
Oh, and the auction states not painted WITH blue stripes.

You are right, Rob. I mistakenly read that sentence as that the blue stripes are not painted on the car...
