Just wondering how most of the collectors on the board keep tabs on their pride and joys. Any software out there to help keep track. I have some books that I check off as I add cars, but a running list would be most helpful. It would be great to be able to keep track of cars not in the books. Plus, with all the new stuff, the books are quickly out dated. Great for reference though. Any ideas?

I use a spread sheet and just enter the cars as I get them.

I use a spreadsheet too. With columns for model, color, manufactuer, any special add-ons and estimated worth.

I just keep walking by the display cases. Still end up getting doubles. :freak:
Guess I need to work on that. :) rr

I have a notebook with photocopies of pictures of cars from the Slot Car Johnnie book and the Tyco/Mattel book of the cars I don't have yet. I think there is 106 car pics in there, so I got a ways to go. In reality most of the stuff is pretty rare or hard to find Tyco cars. It makes checking on whether or not I have a certain car when I am at hobby shows a lot easier.

Someone else introduced me to it, but Greg Braun's Slot Cars 2000 software works pretty nice and has a ton of other data entry points that I never considered and have yet to use. It's free and works!

I use Hotwheels 24 car carrying cases for tracking what I have. I label the box "Corvette, Nascar, F1 " etc then put the appropriate cars in that case. I kppe them collected by what they represent. As for colors I usually remember what I have but I only have @ 260 cars so that could get to be a problem in the future.
