So to answer your question yes you can miss the first race. Stop on over to my house tomorrow night and bring a beverage. Having a little gathering.
Where have you been hiding these days?

ehartman_49348 07-25-2008, 08:36 PM The track will be closed next week Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (7/29, 7/30 & 7/31) for track maintenance.
There will be open practice ($7) Friday night 8/1 to test out the lights.
After 8/2, the RC track will be having the lights every Wednesday night for open practice ($10 to cover the cost of the light rental). Other nights the track will be open, but no lights and practice fee will be the normal $7.

he must have hit a methane pocket up there, lol.
will you let me run electric 1/8 with you guys? how long are the mains?
i ran at dukes in fruity port this past sat, and i took second in a 30 min main with 1 battery change. i lost 2 laps pitting, so if anything i lose a little. LMK

I don't see a problem with you running with the nitro guys. The A main is 30 minutes with 3 mandatory pitstops. As long as you keep to the 3 pitstops, there should not be any problem.
Duke Bradshaw 07-27-2008, 11:19 PM Edwin,
Are you guys going to run every Saturday night?
Duke

Duke
For the month of August, yes. We will be renting some lights for a month to see how it will go for both the Supercross track and the RC track.

well, my 1 pitstop at fruitport this past weekend was like a full min long, i lost at least 2 laps getting a battery swap. so in 30 min i think i still lose with just 1 pit. i took second to champy in a 30 min main.

We'll figure out something. Maybe we'll have to time how long the minimum time it takes to swap a battery pack and compare that to a fast fill-up and do the math. 1 stop for you might be enough if it does take that long.

One pit stop was way fair. It was the first time they were swapping batteries during the main, so I'm sure they can improve a hair, but if you do 5 pit stops in a 30min main, the lost time is between 25 sec to 40 sec. So as long as the electrics stop for at least 45sec min, there should be no issues mixing them up in the main... I flamed out 2 or 3 time in the main at Duke's and lost a lap with that too, and we were only a lap apart with Apple... I think there is no real difference (at least none that I've seen at Duke's), so it really comes down to driving and you can not say that any electric 8th has an advantage on any nitro 8th scale...
Just my opinion... The battle is really fair, and that would bring few more people and bring some great competition to have a fun night... Bring them!!!
Won't be able to make the night race series... FTMS at Fort Wayne on the 2nd and weekend off normally on the 9th, then weekends are booked until September 13th... Would have loved to come out though... AWESOME track at MX131...

Too bad you won't be able to make it out. Are you planning on going to the nitro FTMS on 8/9 in Medina, OH?
darrell_49412 07-29-2008, 09:37 AM was just wondering how many truggy guys were going to show up?
i live like 2 hours away so i would hate to make the trip and not be able to race
thanks darrell

Hey Darrell, typically on a race day, we have at four or five running, but hard to say as of yet for the night races. I know of at least one, maybe two truggy guys coming out with their trucks to run...so, show up and make a full race!
ehartman_49348 07-30-2008, 10:45 PM Just so there is no confusion:
The night races are for the the MX131 August 2008 Saturday Night Series point series, of which you can drop your lowest score in the final tally of the night series. This does not mean that if you will miss more than one race that you can not come out! Everybody is more than welcome to any of the races, even if you only come out for one of them!
Apl Hed 07-31-2008, 07:00 PM how many 1/10 4wd mod, and 2wd stock might be there? i think i will show for the 1/8 as well. see yall sat night.
Rhodesrc 07-31-2008, 11:03 PM i will be there
David Washburn 08-01-2008, 12:07 AM we hope to have a decent turn out for elec. as well as nitro. can't wait for Sat.
KennyB 08-01-2008, 05:21 PM Do you guys have any idea how late racing will go tomorrow? It seems like with nitro and electric classes, it could potential go very late.

Depends on how you look at it.... It might go very early..... Since we start at 6 PM and only run 2 rounds of qualifying, it should not be too bad, but we'll see how late it'll get....
ehartman_49348 08-02-2008, 12:10 AM Well, we tested the lights out tonight and racing under the lights is sweet! I can't wait until tomorrow! Here are 2 crappy pics I shot with my phone to give a little bit of an idea:

Might not need it if we're starting at 6:00. We might be done before it gets dark.
Losi-Don 08-02-2008, 08:58 AM I think channel 13 needs to check the weather again. This is their 7 day forecast they had posted today on the website  Better bring your heaters to the track :freak: And to think they get paid for their job. I could be closer than that

Lay down the road salt, might snow. Ahhh money from the sky:thumbsup:
xraycer 08-02-2008, 09:32 AM Will there be any light facing the pits? See you guy's tonight.
Actually, the lights do not face the pits, they face out on to the track. The light given off really does a great job of lighting the pit area. We had some discussions earlier this week about maybe putting some halogen lights above pit lane, but they may not even be needed. Wait until you see this lit up...you can see it from the highway!!

el camino 08-02-2008, 11:13 AM Is there any electric hook up for charging? Is any one bringing any electric cars?
S. Jerusalem 08-02-2008, 11:15 AM What time is the track open today?
1FastGt2 08-02-2008, 11:16 AM Dang I'm jealous....Figures the wife made out of town plans! Brand new Jammin X1X sitting here waiting for the lights. See you hopefully next week. Might see some reports of a UFO spotting with that amount of lights. Have fun boys!
Scott

ehartman_49348 08-02-2008, 01:39 PM Oh yeah, word of advice: BRING BUG-SPRAY! The skeeters will carry you away if you don't.... LOL
ehartman_49348 08-02-2008, 01:40 PM Is there any electric hook up for charging? Is any one bringing any electric cars?
The light poles actually have build in generators, so there will be more power available than before. For those that do have generators, you might want to bring them out if you can.
ehartman_49348 08-02-2008, 01:41 PM Might not need it if we're starting at 6:00. We might be done before it gets dark.
To make sure the mains will be under the lights, we could always throw in an extra round of qualifying....
ehartman_49348 08-02-2008, 01:42 PM Will there be any light facing the pits? See you guy's tonight.
The pit lane will receive light from the big light poles and even the driver's stand will have light enough. We'll be bringing out some extra spot lights to light up part of the parking area.
S. Jerusalem 08-02-2008, 01:46 PM To make sure the mains will be under the lights, we could always throw in an extra round of qualifying....
