The pit lane will receive light from the big light poles and even the driver's stand will have light enough. We'll be bringing out some extra spot lights to light up part of the parking area.

You didn't happen to see a folding black chair next to your drivers door did you? That would be mine if it was still there. I'll be down next weekend, if you took it with you see ya in 2 weeks. Great race tonight.

Hey Scott: Yes, did find it and it will be at the track waiting for you next week. It should be in the office!

What a great night of racing! The lights worked excellent and it was a fun time for sure! Thanks for John DeMeester for bringing the Slashes for everybody to play with! Sure looked like fun!

If you didn't make it out for this first race, you for sure missed out! It was a great time and the track was perfect and didn't need water all night!

Congrats to Kai on winning the A-Main! You had that track down for sure!

Was that perfect timing or what? Fireworks and a fly-over at the start of the heats and then some massive fireworks at the start of the 1/8 Buggy A-Main! SWEET!

Thanks to all for the warm welcome at the track. It was huge fun. Hope everyone else had as much fun running the Slashes as I did. Hankster, Hank, Tony, Butch, Troy and a lot of the kids all took a turn at the wheel.

Was great to put faces with the names from the forums. Thinking I may bring the Slashes back out on the 23rd with some BFG regulars wheeling them for a more organized class of racing. Got several that may even have their own by then.

I was pleasantly surprised with how well they handled the track. They were even getting impressive air (for a Slash anyway) over the table top.

Thanks again everyone for a great evening.

John

Is it vacation time yet? Been so dang busy I don't get time to log in to read all this funny stuff. If you want to make some easy money go scrap some metal, copper and aluminum. I went around collecting all the free stuff that people don't want and made more in 5hrs work than I would have working for 1 1/2 weeks at my normal job. There's some big bucks in scrap right now so go scrappin'. I wanted to make it out to the track last night but we had a party to go to in Hilliards  And then we spent today on the pontoon beached on a sand bar at Gun Lake sipping a few. Fun time. I will make it one of these Sat nights. Hey Edwin we will be camping at the campground at Gun Lake starting this Friday. Got 6 days of vacation :woohoo: PM me if you want to stop out for dinner or a brew. There will be 20 of us out camping so whats one more person right?

If you didn't make it out this past Saturday, you missed a great fly-by and some awesome fireworks at the start of the 1/8th Scale Buggy A-Main! You just have to make it out to one of these night races. As everybody that was there Saturday night, the racing was awesome, the track held up very well and the atmostphere was great! As an extra incentive for you to come out, we'll have raffles for MX131 certificates at the next 4 races and all racers are entered automatically! Come on out and have some fun under the lights!

I don't know how many people have heard the story about Terry McDowell's situation. Terry is the owner of Pheasant Run on the East side of the state and Terry got in a head-on collission, caused by the other driver falling asleep behind the wheel. Terry is in a terrible condition right now and can use all the support he can get. MX131 will accept donations this Saturday to benefit Terry McDowell. We are also working on other possible fund raiser options..... So, please come out and help support Terry getting through this very rough times.

Here is the link to the blog his family is doing to keep everybody informed:

We have had some further discussions and we have decided that part of the proceeds from the entry fees of the remainder of the series will be donated to Terry and his family. We will also have a 25/75 raffle where 75% will be donated and 25% will go to the winner of the raffle! Spread the word and come out to support Terry McDowell and his family!

I thought I would post this info so everyone would have an idea of what Terry is up against. I pulled this off the blog:

What Happened?
On Saturday, August 2, at approximately 11:30 a.m. Terry McDowell was involved in a head-on collision on Ormond Road in White Lake Township, MI.

An unknown young-adult fell asleep at the wheel, crossed over into the opposite lane, and struck Terry's van head-on. Police are still investigating.

Paramedics rushed Terry via helicopter to Beaumont Medical Center's Trauma Unit. He is in stable, but critical, condition and is currently in the Intensive Care Unit.

From what we know, there is no damage to the spinal cord or brain. He will undergo more X-rays and scans today to determine if there are further injuries. His injuries, as of Sunday, Aug 3 at 10:00 a.m. include:
> Broken right femur
> A compound fracture in his left femur
> A broken tibia
> A shattered ankle
> Slight cut to his liver
> Dissected aorta
> Fractured pelvis
> Unknown back injury
> Three broken ribs

Terry underwent 11 hours of surgery on Saturday evening. The first surgery was cardiac surgery to repair the damage to his torn, or dissected, aorta. They performed non-invasive heart surgery and used a stent to repair the aorta. The surgery was completed without complications.

The second surgery was orthopedic surgery to repair his broken bones. He came out of surgery strong, but remains in critical condition due to the complications that could arise from heart surgery and a compound fracture of the Femur.

I'm not used to begging racers to come out to our track, but in this case I will make an exception. I urge everyone to please come out over these next three Saturday nights and help us raise as much as we can to help Terry and his family. Spread the word to everyone you know!!!!!
Hank

Will have to see if I can make your last race. I really want to come run on your track. See if I can give Edwin a run on his home track. : )~
Are you guys going to run until snow flies?

My main reason for writing is do you have any mx races coming up that are on an rc race day? Would be cool to race my toy cars and go watch the people running bikes too.

Would love it if you would come out Jeff! I haven't seen you in so long, it will be great to catch up! As far as I know, we'll try to stay open as long as possible.

No MX races at MX131 as of yet, I believe they will start racing on 8/29 on the SX track at night, but not on the same day as RC racing. There will be bikes out during the day when we race at night though, so if you come out early enough, you can practice and watch some MX practice action as well!

Great racing last night! Thanks to everybody that came out and to everyone that assisted in the Terry McDowell donation. There was a total of $166.25 donated last night (including 25% of the entry fees). I hope we will be able to raise some more over the next 2 races to assist Terry and his family!
