So I've been out of this hobby for the past 5-8 years. I eyed my old car that's been stored for that long and decided to pull it out and start working on it.
I usually come here for the diecast forums, but now that my interest for RC is back, I'll be coming here more often now.
So here's my question ( BTW, didn't know where to post it, so decided to post it here): I have an old HPI Nitro MT. I've rebuilt the .15FE engine (to be tested this Sunday) and hope to get it running. My question is how much bigger of an engine can I install on this? I know I've been out of it for a while and notice they're now going by horsepower (3.0, 3.3, etc.) where I'm used to it either being a .15, .18. or .21. As stated, it originally came with a .15. I'm sure a .18 will fit, but is a .21 considered big block and will that fit? I was eyeing a CEN .26 engine that I'm interested in buying, but want to know if it will fit this truck before I buy it.
Any help would be great!
Glad to be back in it! Hopefully in the future, I can purchase another RC vehicle. I don't know whether I want a 2WD electric buggy (any suggestions) or a nitro powered hydroplane boat (live by a lake!). I definitely, by Christmas, want to get 2 Team Losi micro RC trucks, one for me and one for my daughter, to share in the hobby.
