In preparation for the WDRA event we will need to have a Prep and Play day this Sat from 9-2. You can stay and play later than 2, but I have to leave for another engagement.

Play can commence after the prep is done. Basic pick-up, tree-trimming (no not Christmas), wall painting, new loop wire, electrical check, weed wacking, track sweeping. etc. All able bodies welcome.

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help

See Ya.............. At The Track:thumbsup:

Great weather, great tracks and great racers equate to a couple of awesome events...

I enjoyed the entire weekend. I got my annual Pine Bowl / Biondi Venison fix, celebrated the CD R/C Racers 30th Year, and enjoyed beautiful weather for both days of the WDRA Double Header Weekend.

Thanks to all the sponsors and racers who supported the events, and congrats to all the winners.

Awesome run by Romano Conti for TQ'ing Small Block, jumping out to a big lead, getting into a wreck, and making a huge comeback to regain the lead and take down his first ever WDRA victory!

Special Thanks to the voice of the CDRC Racers Kirt Coonradt for running such efficient and colorful shows around, as well as he and his wife allowing us to turn their yard into our playground.

Also a Special Thanks to Howie, Ollie and Jerry for providing us with the 'Competition Compound' -a place to race complete with a shop, deli and especially all Jerry's hard work this year on the track. Your efforts do not go unnoticed or unappreciated!

What a race to watch between Blum-quist and Peek. Sucks that the battle was ended prematurely, Peek- It was exciting while it lasted!

Thank you one all for participating in our 30th Anniversary Celebration!

And what a celebration it was….

Great Racers
Fantastic weather
Huge Generosity from the Vendors, Manufacturers, Representatives, and Shops
Unbelievable that a volunteer racing organization can be around for 30 years!

And it’s all because people like you keep chipping in when you can to have fun racing with your friends.

Saturday’s race at the Pine Bowl might have been lightly attended; but the determination and intensity to conquer the baffling, and seldom raced on surface, was second to none. It made for a great day of competition under the pines.

Good to see a field of Trucks, with most of the field traveling an hour plus. In the end it was Kyle Corbett taking home the TQ and win.

The Small Block field featured the most entries, as it has all year on the WDRA and CDRC race cards. Rob Hillman made the most of his 4+ hour drive to take down the TQ and win on a surface that he said was “made for him”; while others struggled for any bite at all. Yours truly tried to stink up the show by barely sneaking in through a bump-up. But salvaged a finished when with 5 to go Romano and Lareau got together to let me slip by. Kudos to Bruce Rawleigh for his B main win, as he said he’s used to running in the pines at his track back home. Ned Van and James Dooley earned their passage through the hotly contested C main.

The Big Block 19T drivers where soundly handled by Team Putnam driver Jason Blumquist. With local hot show on the WDRA Circuit Shilo Boyce a lap down.

The 13.5 class again saw the out-of-towners running very good on the track that truly favors no-one, as no-one has run on it all year. The Watier – Hillman finish 1-2 was only challenged early on by Todd Putnam, who had found the magic in the last practice session before the mains; only to have the left rear tire try to un-mount itself early in the race, but even so; TP wheeled it to a forth place finish behind Jason Blumquist.

Sunday at Competition Hobbies was the better attended of the two races with 59 Entries:
3 Sprints
5 Trucks
25 Small Blocks
14 Big Block 19T
12 Brushless 13.5

The two rounds of heats, bump-up mains, door prizes, and group photos, started at 12:15 and concluded at 5:50. Thanks for all your help guys in being prepared to run and marshal all day long!

Two Goody’s Headache Awards:
Jeff Hotaling, who gets in a lap 1 altercation in the Big Block B Main preventing him from transferring into the A
Jerry Cummings (who did all the great track prep work the entire week before); usually runs SB, but as we allow 17.5’s he didn’t have a WDRA legal power plant, tries hi luck in the 13.5 field and has another obligation in that ran long and didn’t even get to run his main!

Shocker of the Day:
Keith Watson, a young gun from the CDRC Racers, races the Canadian Blast, Steve Salvas, hard as you can; with multiple door closings in the early stages of the 13.5 B Main; which prevents Steve from transferring into the A.

Sportsmanship of the Weekend:
Rod Hillman, desperate for HP after qualifying in the SB B; bums a motor from local Keith Watson, and uses it to bump into the A and finish third. What are friends for!

Congrats to all the winners; including in part:

Great to Todd Moran get the monkey off his back with a strong showing in the BB class; which once again was taken hostage by Jason B.; with local hot sow Dave Peek a lap down in second.

Todd Putnam captured the 13.5 with Hotaling and Hillman in toe, after a strong start by Watier who slipped to forth.

SB part-time runner Roman Conti finally got the first WDRA win, and after his car SHOOK the drivers stand at abount the one third point in the race. Nice job big guy!

Truck God of the CD R/C Racers Dave Lareau was not to be denied, even though the much anticipated rematch with Jeff Winzens never materialized ( as Jeff filled out the Sprint Car field).

Speaking of Sprints, yes Jeff W took his beautify sprinter to victory circle and is still looking for his kiss from the trophy girl????

Again; thanks to all those took part in this celebration, basked in the best weather of the year, and spent it going around in circles with your friends!
The CD R/C Racers thank you; one and all!

See Ya………………At The Track:thumbsup:
Kirt

PS Pictures sent to Wally, who is also doing the points (hint, hint)
