Why was the Pod Instruction thread closed? Someone even posted a diagam to help. Was it embarrassing to Moebius?

Why was the Pod Instruction thread closed? Someone even posted a diagam to help. Was it embarrassing to Moebius? The overall tone was certainly civil and constructive. Maybe the discussion had simply gone as far as it could, and any further posts would be redundant?

The thread turned from critical to helpful and IMHO should have stayed open. Moebius is a fine product but the shortcomings should be discussed and if solutions found they should be posted. Closing the thread without any reason is not how it's done here.

Let's see, Moebious sponsors this particular area for posting, and likely pays for it. Several of those posts started out with "The instructions for the Moebious Space Pod totally suck". Hmmmmmm.....Get out your slide rules and calculators and let's see if we can all figure this out together.

The old saying "Don't bite the hand that feeds you" probably applies here. Although I'm fairly new here, I've noticed several sharp tongues in reply to simple questions asked by folks. Some of you guys totally lambasted Gilussions over that barter post. I know it may have come off as a sales pitch a bit, but I don't think that's how he intended it to be. Moebious is producing/reproducing some kits that many of us have dreamed of owning or having since we were kids!!! Producing this stuff AIN'T CHEAP either, and there's a ton of risk involved in covering the costs of brand new tooling. So what if the instructions aren't a work of art. Do most of you REALLY need them anyway?! Polar Lights instructions in many of thier kits were really bad, but God bless Tom Lowe for kicking out some of the best stuff to hit the planet in 25 years!! It was great while it lasted, and I'm thrilled to have a bunch of those old Aurora kits in my mitts at a fraction of the price you'd pay for originals!! (Tom and Johnny Greczula have more great stuff in store for us in the coming months too!) As far as the cottage industry stuff like the lighting kits and photoetched parts too, there's a ton of work involved in this stuff. Why, even 10 years ago, we didn't have ANYTHING hardly available to do this kind of work! It takes time, talent, and hard earned cash to produce this stuff for us all to enjoy! My point is, BE THRILLED, BE HAPPY, BE NICE. It makes it so much more of a pleasure to visit here when you are!

I have 2 seaviews, 2 space pods and 2 chariots on order. They are fantastic kits. But the reality is they are only fantastic if you can put them together. Not everyone is a modeler by hobby and some things are so intricate and some people are less knowledgable on modeling than others and those folks really do need good instructions. That's not a slam, it's just common knowledge that Moebius should take to heart and make their already fantastic kits even better. Nothing wrong with improving your product, even if it is already great.

Tim,
Thank you for putting this in a proper perspective.
NO other model kit manufacturer offers the kind of direct communication Moebius is providinng with this forum.
For those of you who have suggestions and criticisms I would offer these thoughts; re-read your post and think about what you've said BEFORE you hit the submit button.
Trust me, your suggestions and criticisms are being read.
The Instruction sheet thread was not all that positive and I didn't see any prospect that it would get better......The message had been delivered the thread was closed.
This thread has also served it's purpose, and it's closed as well.
