ok, i'm to the point where i can start to paint the interior.
but some thoughts occured to me and i hope you guys can give me some help.

how much do i need to paint if you can only view it from the front?

are you guys glueing the interior in?

are you leaving the bottom loose interior viewing ?

i'm lighting the interior, do i need to paint something special for the best effect?

You can see a fair bit of the interior through the windows. But be warned the clear window pieces in the kit have a reverse magnifying effect due to thier thickness and curveture. I used some clear blister pack plastic. I didn't use any special blends or glow mediums. But like you and a few other blokes I put lighting in mine to bring things out which really negates the use of such special blends and mixes.

I went for the glue in option cause I have a whole folder on my pc with w.i.p. shots that I plan to print and have in a small album near the model when someone asks about it. Have a poke around on here cause there are some great threads that shiow off how people did things.

here's a link to my Seaview W.I.P. http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showthread.php?t=220134

The model at CultTVMan's Wonderfest booth had the windows out so you could se the lit interior clearly.
Like Alec said, people are using pieces of clear blisterpac plastic instead for no distortion.
good luck!

If you dont light it, you can't see past the front bulkhead really. Certainly you don't need to knock yourself out. Plus the kit windows, while clear, distort things terribly, making a lot of work moot. With lights, you can see pretty much everything to some degree, but again the kit windows ruin the effect. If you don't use the aftermarket set wtih a roof for the control room, its very obvious the sub is hollow as you can see up above the control room to the joint along the top of the hull.

I got round that using some kitchen foil shaped and then glued in place above and behind the control room. Cheap... :p but very effective

I built a simple series of frames along the ceiling to mimic the TV set. Viewed from the windows, they hide that it's open, but still leave it open for lights.

A friend of mine came up with a great idea, he's going to vacuum-form the bow section in clear and make a separate model to display the Bridge. It is like a separate kit so why hide it inside the exterior kit?
