View Full Version : Trax70 "5th Annual Paul Heitz Memorial Race" August 17th
sc2002gtp 07-21-2008, 10:58 PM There will be a practice race day the Sunday prior to this event (August 10th) for anyone interested. I don't know the exact details, but hopefully Charlie will post the soon. I would like to run a 10.5 class if we can get enough racers that are interested.

Goodwrench29 07-22-2008, 06:48 PM You got it...the 5th Annual Paul Heitz Memorial Race is coming up fast. There will be alot of great race prize giveaways and I will have a few speciality awards as well. I had to cancel the practice race on August 10th, but the track will be open all day for practice on August 10th and August 16th which is the day before the race. As for classes....I had alot of people ask me to run either 17.5 or 10.5 as an additional class at the Garden State race. I offered both classes but there wasn't any drivers for either. So the classes will be 4-Cell 13.5 and Spec Truck. I will consider a 4-Cell 17.5 class but I will need to confirm at least 5 drivers before I do. This race will be the usual 3 rounds of quals and then the mains. Entry fee is $25.00 for the first class and $15.00 for the second. Start time is 12:00 and we'll run the first and second rounds back to back and then re-shuffle for the third round. Any questions just post.:thumbsup:

You can't run anything-I have your car!:woohoo::wave::woohoo:
georgew123 07-29-2008, 09:34 PM Dave just wants to "see" 17.5 Lipo run...
As for me, I'd like to see an open class.... run as fast and crazy as you are willing. Nitro, 12th scale, 1/8th scale, lipo, brushed, 12 cells... that'll make it great!!!
Again, I said "see" an open class, I don't have enough parts anymore to roll like that.

Dave
georgew123 08-04-2008, 05:35 PM Nice... I haven't seen Lipo, but 17.5 Lipo should be quick based on what I have read. I still want to see an "open" class.

I only knew Paul for a few years but everywhere I went he was there before me and ready to go. Not sure if would have liked all this new tech stuff (Brushless) but he sure would have given everyone hell regardless of what we run. I'm sure he will be the first one at the track (Trax 70 - Turn 3) this Sunday ready to go. Go get em #99.

georgew123 08-18-2008, 12:14 AM Hey guys, I just wanted to personally thank all those who made it out to race today. Even more so, I'd like to thank Brian B. and the IRS camp for letting me run his car (despite the tragic outcome). I forgot my car at home (I swear it was an accident) and Brian was nice enough to loan me his car for the afternoon. After qualifying for the show and beating my personal best by at least a lap, I was in 2nd at the begining of lap 2... then all h*ll broke loose. Either way, you saved my day. So, THANK YOU to Brian B. and IRS. Please do let me know if the A-Main damage has a value $$$, as it would not have happened if I weren't driving.
Otherwise, today was a good day to remember our old friend Paul and all that this track meant to him and all he meant to us. I'm sure he was up there helping us out with the absolutely beautiful weather.

sc2002gtp 08-18-2008, 08:48 PM Alan congrats on the win, I don't know how you manage to hit high 5's, but I'm content with my times.
On a side note courtesy, or lack of, given by slower cars during qualifying will be remembered and the shoe may be on the other foot some day.:wave:
jman91 08-18-2008, 08:59 PM Congrats to Alan and Bill-nice run guys.Had a blast made it from Annapolis MD to the track in 3hrs(includes a trip home to drop off the family,change clothes and pick up my stuff)and still had time to practice.Going to rebuild the frt end tonight and make my return on Fri night.:woohoo:
