First thing to try is a new spark plug, after that I would try a prime again. If still no results then I would check the compression and perhaps the flywheel key.

what should the compression be? Would any one happen to have a repair manual in pdf form?

Regarding the manual...I wouldn't hold out too much hope. I haven't seen any available electronically. Legitimate Honda manuals are only available from limited sources for purchase only. I haven't seen any make there way to the web yet...
If you're gonna keep the unit for a while, it's probably a worthwhile investment!

Look under "service information" -"shop manuals" and follow the instructions

I have the same engine and problem in my generator...probably bad exhaust valve...compression should be at or over 85 psi...
