Question here....I'm on a budget and am wanting to go digital. I have SCX analog track, about a 50 ft layout, and was wondering if I bought the "entry level" scx digital setup if I can just "sub" the lane changing places and the main digital pieces into my existing track. I have soldered together different brands of track together before, and it worked out great. Yes, I know I need to convert my existing 20+ cars over to digital format. But would this work? Just trying to save $ where I can. Also, I have a variety of brands of analog cars from revell to scx to scalectrix to carrera...what digital system can handle all brands?
Thanks for the info!

Dustin,
SCX analog track and SCX Digital track are not compatible. You can use adapters to go from either SCX analog to Ninco or SCX analog to Scalextric. This will allow you to convert your track to N-Digital or SSD. Both N-Digital and SSD allow you to convert other brand cars using a decoder chip.

Excellent....so I need to buy an adapter from scx analog to scalectrix (or ninco), then buy the digital version of scalectrix or ninco and will be set? Or are you saying I just need to replace all track with all digital?
Thanks again for the info

Dustin,
Ninco make an adapter (#10110) that connects SCX analog or Scalextric classic to Ninco track. This along with the #40202 N-Digital conversion kit will allow you to convert your track to N-Digital. If you want to convert your track to SSD, then you will need the Ninco adapter, a Scalextric classic to Sport adapter and all the SSD Digital components. You might want to use more than 2 adapters so you can spread out the lane changers with your existing SCX analog track.
Best regards,
Brian

I think when the wireless Digital systems become available
those will be the hot setup. Then I would build a digital track.
