BEACH 07-29-2008, 09:37 PM will caps work on asphalt ? :drunk:
George, A VERY WISE man once told us that we were crazy for using foams on asphalt, soft compound caps would be the way to go, we just never tried them, that VERY WISE man still asks me to this day why we waste so much money?
Jim
jbm38 07-29-2008, 09:52 PM Schreffler :woohoo::woohoo: Who Won
I did but only by 3 car lengths:thumbsup:
sc2002gtp 07-29-2008, 10:13 PM I did but only by 3 car lengths:thumbsup:
Your car was fast all night, did you get PM?
Anytime72 07-30-2008, 07:57 AM Caps would be the Snizzle.........
BEACH 07-30-2008, 05:21 PM Walter, I think with a sealed track, like TnL, soda applied, caps would be more then fine! At the Mill, track being bumpy, soda added, caps would be ok too, just may take a little more work?
If we could get caps working, that might even spark an interest with me, but this battery stuff.....I am still not a fan of.
Jim
abdule 07-30-2008, 07:01 PM caps are made to run on Concrete.....................:thumbsup:
oldtimer 07-30-2008, 07:16 PM Sorry for my answer . I did alot of racing on caps back in the early 90s and we did not have any luck running caps on blacktop we tryed all kinds of compound . Back then we ran trc caps they just were to hard i guess Sorry again . See you all at the track Ken
pmsimkins 07-30-2008, 07:37 PM Lots of cap tire racing is done on asphalt. Try them at the start of the year before you run a bunch of foam and sun tan lotion into the track :)
3 of the last 6 paved nats have been on asphalt.

J Schreffler 08-09-2008, 11:24 PM Couldn't agree more Oz. John's car was soo good that he could probably drive his car while drinking a beer, eating a steak, and watching TV and still be fast enough to TQ and Win. LMAO. Great job John. You deserve it!
It was great hangin' with everyone and having a good time. Good close racing all day and the race format was cool. I know there were others hanging around my tent area that are intrigued about oval now. :cool:
BTW... I just ate at Texas Roadhouse. YUM! And no Al, it was not a 32oz. :rolleyes:
