Midway through summer, time to start thinking about racing this fall, it's only ten weeks away!!

What I really want to get started talking about is what classes we will be running and who will be running what??

Our projected class lineup looks like this, PLEXCUP/Sportsman Stock 17.5, Super Stock 13.5-NiMh/21.5-Lipo, Pro Mod 10.5-NiMh/17.5-Lipo, Legends, LOSI Late Model Spec, LOSI Slider Open and 2WD Open.

This is kind of what I see for each class:

PLEXCUP/Sportsman Stock 17.5 - With equal speeds and being combined most of the second half of last year, this should make for a good sized class. Spec tires would be the only question here?
Super Stock 13.5-NiMh/21.5-Lipo - Should be the biggest class. ROAR legal Lipos dependent on BRL Lipo rules.
Pro Mod 10.5-NiMh/17.5-Lipo - Small but steady numbers. ROAR legal Lipos dependent on BRL Lipo rules.
Legends - Steady but kind of slipped last year. Better weekly numbers needed for it to survive. Short track
LOSI Late Model Spec - The new spec class, BOX STOCK, LOSI HOP-UPS ONLY! 1600mah NiMh max, gearing and dampening adjustable. Short track
LOSI Slider Open - For those who want to run brushless and/or Lipo, anything goes! Probably run on the big track.

All these classes should be able to run as long as we get at least four cars on a regular basis.

I know it's early but some input now would be great. Please post your comments/opinions and what you are thinking about running to help me get things going easier in October.

I would like to see a count of who plans on running 17.5 lipo Pro Class. Thinking of going 21.5 lipo to get in the larger class. Also will you keep us updated on what is ROAR legal for lipo batteries.

How about lipo batteries for the late models? Losi lipo's only?

B, pretty sure Tim said l/m will be box stock as that is how other tracks are running the class.

And your charger is working great, will have to pick up a lipo charger myself soon, after I find out which batt to buy :confused:

I was trying to go cheap for the 2nd class, no big deal. The L/M will probably be the biggest class this year. Glad to hear the charger is working still and since you borrowed it, that must means an extra lap for me....:woohoo:

Not sure just yet on spec tires, we'll hopefully get everything nailed down within the next month. And yes, 4-cell for this class. At least until Novak gets a 25.5 motor out to run with Lipos?;)

OK, I'm going to start a list of who's planning on running what classes on the first post of this thread. This should give anyone else who is looking an idea of what will be running this fall. Keep the posts coming, I'll update it as much as I can when I hear from others who don't get online.

I say we run them with the rubber that's on them. It would make it closer racing.

I have a couple of them myself that are going to go. Looking for a new ride for fall. Thought I would try 21.5 this year, need more cars in the heat so hopefullly I won't finish last. Looking forward to a good year at the Plex.

I would be interested in some feed back on lipo batteries. What is everyone thinking of running at the Plex for lipo. I need to buy some new batteries.

jim you should just spend the money on a SMC 3200 lipo. I think you will be surprised on how easy it is to maintain.

21.5 lipo for me this year and depending if Lincoln decides to put in that dirt oval will determine if i buy a losi latemodel or 1/8 latemodel

Working on some different things for this year that I hope I can make work. Some schedule changes could happen but October is set so far.:thumbsup:

Jason, how are you going to do that and still race at the King of the Wings in Springfield, that would be a long comute between heats. LOL

I'm still trying to decide on what I'm going to do. I want to go to the King of the wings race but I need some practice with my 21.5 car as well. What I might do is go to the King of the wings race and try to hit KC or Omaha a week or two after that.

I have landed a rent-a-ride for the King of the Wings, should be fun. At least to this point it looks like a clear weekend for me, the wife is going to be in Texas. LOL

Doesn't look like I will make it up there until the BRL race.
