MASCAR had it's big Awards celebration and races at Tim Keevin's place in Gloucester Point, Virginia on Saturday. The racing was for fun and not for points. Tom Bowman got the BeachJet win and Jeff Crabtree the Super Stock win. The serious bit was awarding beautiful inscribed trophy to our overall champion, James Kennedy. James finished a measly one point ahead of Ray Etheridge after nine months of racing! James won the Super Stock/Modified class, which Ray finished third in. Ray won the BeachJet Class and James finished second.

Jeff Crabtree stepped down from the MASCAR Presidency after a very successful two year run. He will stay connected to the group as Vice President. Mark Smith was elected the new President for the coming season.
There are exciting changes coming up for the group, which will see more race dates and shorter events, alternating between the two major divisions of MASCAR for each event. This should give us events that will attract more racers, and not have to force the schedule to accomodate two classes at each race meeting.

Some clarifications of the rules were discussed and voted on. These will be incorporated into the online rules pages in due course.
