Those old Wisconsin engines are almost bullet proof. You can find many variations of the twin cylinder engines that were used on old Yazoo riding mowers, and they were heavily used to run pumps in oil fields.

When I was a kid on the farm I think we had a Wisconsin V4 on a hay bailer, I remember it sure was hard to start, which was fine with me cause when it was running I had to tie wires(most of you have no idea what that is, but it's bad). Have a good one. Geo

I learn something everyday on this board! Does Robin-Subaru engines still support parts for these old beasts?

You are right. This engine is really strong. It's a shame wisconsin motors don't built this engines anymore. So many people say this engine is so hard to start. In this case my engine runs so easily. Maybe the cranck I use have inner bearing for turn easy and don't kick when start . This cranck is made for myself

I guess the most important is no be afraid when you have to operate this engine. The risks are anytime but when you meet the engine you learn to love it.
