Have 6.5HP Champion engine mounted on McClane mower. Engine is Honda GX200 clone. First 6 mo ran fine, then it started missing slightly, then became prone to flooding, then STRONG odor of gas. Noticed gas filling bowl on top of carb. Took apart carb 3 times, cleaned blew out ports. It starts for a second, then gas pours out of carb. I know its not a Honda but thought I got a great deal. I am an old man with no money so please dont poke fun at my engine choice.I am in deparate need of HELP-ADVISE, this time of year I can actually watch the grass growing.
Thanks-Joe

Make sure that the float bowl vent in your carburetor is open and not clogged with some debris or build up, if your float bowl does not properly vent, the carburetor can flood. You should also check the float, it may have a leak and could have fuel inside it.
Good Luck....

After installing new carb experienced same prob.bypassed serviceman went to service mgr. he to insisted carb prob till I said fuel pouring out of carb was dirty.he assertained original carb was defective, filling crankcase with gas and overfilling engine with oil/gas, suggested draining oil and checking. THAT WAS IT. First time I ever ran into this prob.Joe
