Ok, another second annual race presented by Big Bill's R/C raceway. Bill is putting on a 150, 1/8th LM race, July 19th @ 6pm, track opens at 3:00pm. Last year it was a 100 lap A-main and it was over to soon. So this year Bill decided it was time to seperate the men from the boys, run 150 lap A-main and run what you brung. Yes, this will be the deciding factor in what the tire rule is for the remainder of the season. Bill decided to let results and entries dictate the rules package. Bottom line, all track need racer, all racers need tracks. So this is what he came up with. Rubber tires, side dams, foams, whatever, bring em out and lets see what works best and how many wanna run what. Bill said he would take the top 7 cars in the A-main and whatever had the most points, that's what his track would run. You wanna run foams? Rubbers? Side dams? Come on out and run em. I also think this is the best way to find out who wants to run what, and here is your chance. Tell a friend and get loaded up. Last years race was a blast and we expect this race to be even better.
So here is a breakdown of the rules for the 1/8 LM's.
Any molded body, any foam or street track tire, (no off-road tires) and side dams or not. That is it, any engine......whatever.
Yes we will be running all normal classes that night also.
Finishing order points for LM's......
1) 10
2) 9
3) 8
4) 7
5) 6
6) 5
7) 4
8) 3
For example say:
car #1 running rubber tires gets 10 points
car #2 running foams gets 9 points
car #3 rubber 8
car #4 rubber 7
car #5 foams 6
car #6 foams 5
car #7 foams 4
So that is 25 points for rubber tire cars and 24 for foams, therefore rubber tires win out. Fair? Even though foam tire cars out numbered the rubber tire cars, doesn't mean that's what will win. So here is your chance to decide what it will be. Come one out and lets see how this works out. Bill just wants racers, and hopes this will help get people out to help him decide. We already hear of guys planning on coming from Ohio and Tennessee. Where are YOU coming from?
See ya next Saturday night. And yes, Bill will be running his regular club race Friday night.
One last thing, don't forget to bring your pit person........gonna need probably 3 pit stops to get this one in depending on your engine and throttle finger.....:checkere dflag:
