One of the few remaining cast members of Gone With the Wind passed away last weekend. There are perhaps only two or three others that I know of left, now.

Associated Press Writer LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Evelyn Keyes, who played Scarlett O'Hara's younger sister Suellen in "Gone With the Wind" and counted director John Huston and bandleader Artie Shaw among her famous husbands, has died. She was 91.
The actress died July 4 of uterine cancer at her home in Montecito, near Santa Barbara, producer and close friend Allan Glaser said Friday.
Glaser said the news was withheld because lawyers wanted to wait until the death certificate was filed.

It's always sad when someone who was one of the last surviving links to a classic motion picture passes on, but 91 is a pretty damn good run. I should only live so long!

She seemed to be a lovely lady. I've seen her in several documentaries on Gone with the Wind and other films.

I once wrote Ms. Keyes to ask for two autographs for my sister, who are real GWTW nuts. She wrote back with a very nice note and two signatures. A lot better than Olivia de Haviland, who sent back a form letter saying she didn't do autographs.
