I'm not sure what direction you want to go with your 'upgrading', but a very cost effective upgrade is to change to the Slider chassis (you also need the front/rear bulkheads and the battery bar)... Once you do this, you have what I call a Slider-T, that is about 1" longer in wheelbase and handles MUCH better. Then you get a Protoform 'Crowd Please' body for the RC18t -- it is a great fit on the stretched mini-t, and you have a really great looking little truck for very little money. (depending on your front shocks, etc. you may have to use the extended front body mount posts that come with the Mini-Baja - available as part of a body mounting package)

If you want to improve the steering on ANY of the LOSI mini's, the GPM aluminum steering bellcrank assembly is almost mandatory...

Tfrahm is right on target. If you want to go all the way; install brushless motor, lipo batt, aluminum chassis parts (arms, towers, etc), and graphite chassis. The real question is what type of racing are you going to be doing? Depending on that answer, the hop ups might be different.
