I was wondering how much power you can put to the new losi late model stock esc? What would be the best motor upgrade but not have to change the esu. Also what is the difference between 19turn and 12 motors? All help would be great.

The stock ESC will handle slight mod motors such as Losi Insane; not much more.

19 turn has 19 winds on com, 12 turn has 12 winds on com. 12 is more powerful than 19 with more rpm. 19 turns have strong bottom ends for torque. Depending on the vehicle and track, they serve different purposes.

I don't know what type of motor the Sliders use. I think a sealed motor. But, here is a link to a 10th scale 27 turn stock motor. If it is a sealed motor, the brushes are inside the motor and you can't take it apart. The function of the parts are the same.

If you look at the the green thing in the pics, that is the armature or arm. The copper wire that is wrapped around the arm is where the number of turns come from. in this case, It is 1 long wire that is wrapped around each segment of the stack (the Green part) The Shinny copper thing at the end of the arm is the commutator or comm. That is where the brush's ride. The brush's make the connection to the wires from the speed control by way of the brush hood.

Some times on Mod motors they use more then 1 strand of wire. They may use 2-4 smaller wires and wrap them the same way as the stock motor in the example. Usually, on low turn motors such as 10 and under. If you had a mod motor with 7 turns of 3 wires, it would be called a 7x3.

I hope this make since to you. :)

If you want the speed and not have to worry about motor maintenance than a Mamba mini brushless system may be the way to go. I think they are around $125 for motor and esc. You won't be dissapointed with the speed. I would highly recommend that upgrade as well as the ball diff.
