Well, not really.

I just found out that September 1st I will be going back to Japan for a year to attend a Nissan sponsored engine rebuilding program. This is sort of an honor really, only one ASE Certified mechanic from each region was selected, and our region (Bakersfield to Sacramento) was allowed to have two go. I scored a 986/1000 on the skills test and tied with a Nissan engine builder in Monterey, so we both get to go.

I'll still be active here over there, and who knows, maybe I'll get some of the cool HO stuff coming out before it reaches the US shores. I will be participating in Pete's World GP but that will be the last such series I'll race in until late 2009. I'll be leaving Pete with my 2 Super Internationals and LBGP sets so he can contine the series. Just don't give the stuff away Petey.

Cool -- you need to check for underground slot suppliers while you are there. I bet you can get anything you want - lol.

Good luck.

Congratulations on your very significant accomplishment. I spent a couple of weeks in Japan a few years ago and had a wonderful time. I suspect that you will be very busy but the extra effort will be well worth it.

Wow. This is the kind of thing I should have been told face-to-face. Instead I read about it. I know I've been hard to reach and all but it would have been nice to have a heads up before it hit the forum.

In any event things will go on, the series will be conducted with the program Yoshi and I have been working on. It's very similar to the 4-lane oval program but shares a lot of A1GP content too. I completed the last 3 cars tonight, Brazil, Austria and Indonesia, they will all sit for a picture sometime this weekend, all 16 cars.
