Great news! there is a new carpet track located in Moonachie, nj. It is 44' x 20' ozite. Chris who runs the hobby shop actually has inventory and spare parts available. I raced with him over 20 years ago and he has plenty of experience in racing. He can be reached at info@xtremercaddicts.com

the address is 200 Moonachie Avenue
Moonachie, NJ 07074
Phone # 201-729-9500

Chris would definitely consider an ORL-NE oval tour race this fall/winter and he has plenty of pit space. In about two weeks he will start a Monday and Thursday evening race series with 1/18-1/12 and 1/10 cars.

The track is open daily for practice and if you call chris, he can answer your questions and send you some pics. I know that he got the carpet from CRC as well as the rapid rails. And he of course has amb lap counting system.

Chris is a racer and I think we would all be impressed with this facility. I am building a 1/12 oval car for this place as well as a 1/18 losi late model for his spec class.

Thank god we now have a great carpet oval close to civilization. I have spent several years traveling 2 plus hours for races, now is the chance to have this track succeed. Reminds me of the old Clifton hobbies but without the high banking.

The competition is anticipated to be excellent and probably create some of the newest and fastest racers on the east coast.

And the pizza nearby is awesome.

pics will be available soon and if you contact chris directly he can email them.

Rumor has it that there will be a "fall classic" one day event, so get your bullring cars ready, either 1/18, 1/12 and any 1/10 pan car, sk mod etc....

If you think it is too small for 1/10, bring a 1/12. I have run 1/10 on tracks that small and it is great. Besides, small tracks develop great drivers with sharper reflexes and passing skills.

Monday was a blast , we ran the losi mini-late models on the oval track.

Please Note:

The point series will start Monday August 4, 2008 for the Oval Mini-late models. The class will run for 8 weeks with one drop week. You have to run the stock ESC with a stock motor. The motor can be the one that comes in the kit or a recoil stock motor part# SWK6214 with a 7.2Volt Ni-Mh. You can run stock rubber tires or foam tires also the body must be a stock body. You can put your own radio in the car if you would like. You must also have your own amb trans. If you are going to get into this class i have a sale on the Mini-Late Models if you do not have one. The races will start at 8:00PM so give yourself an hour or two to get ready. If there are any questions please give chris a call 201-729-9500 or ask online.

We will also have time to run a few extra classes on monday nights. Stock 1/10 or 1/12 Oval pan car. Both classes have to be stock with a 4-cell Ni-Mh battery.

See you at the track

Toby that's smaller than GB..........what about TRAX-70 ?

Mr. Xtreme
07-31-2008, 08:29 PM
The track is the same size as trax-70 and they run 1/10 scale on it. I have no problem running 1/12 scale so lets run.

07-31-2008, 10:17 PM
Hey if Moonachie is smoother than trax 70 (unless they smoothed it out) I'de be game for 17.5 BL with 4600's. From the pics it looks like the turns are a bit tight.....or is that just camera angle ???

1/12 stock would be great with 17.5 brushless motors or c027t stock brushed. any more power would go to waste on a small track.

Don't forget the 1/18 losi late models. I drove one last week and I was very impressed and it should create some great racing. i am still trying to convince chris to have 10 car heats.

I asked Chris the same thing yesterday. It should be very interesting to see 10 guys go at it .

Mr. Xtreme

If I get the guys to the track I would try 8 cars, If they are game. The track is very challenging.

The Mini-late model series will start Monday August 4 or August 11. :woohoo:

The Mini-late models are almost the same size as a 1/10 scale pan car.
Only about 1/2 inch wider and Only 2 Inches longer cause of the body.

We will post a Mini-Late Model Soon, So you can all see.
