Anyone planing to weather there seaview? Was there any weathering on the production models used in the tv series. On the photos ive seen of the iconic replicas seaview there looks to be brown stains (presumably Rusting) under the bay windows and in several other places.

I'm planning on weathering mine. the sail and all other exposed areas when the vessel is traveling at surface level should show weathering/rust. not heavy, mind you. I will have rust/paint discoloration "flowing" from the ballast/limber holes (lightly!) and some trailing from the mast diving planes. ...and psychidelic flowers pained all about, of course.
that last part is a lie.

Overall light ghost gray, with the shadows and recesses airbrushed in dark ghost gray shading. I may try some subtle panel lines at estimated bulkheads. Dunno if I'll do drain stains at the limber holes. Maybe some reeeeeal subtle ones.

Mr. Merriman did an interesting weathering job on one of his Moebius Seaviews, all the way down to "dishing in" on the bottom of the sub, simulating what'd likely happen over time.
If you hunt around here I believe or over on Cultman's forum, he's got a lot of photos posted.
