View Full Version : 1972 Pontiac Trans Am
CarCrazyDiecast 07-08-2008, 12:45 PM A 1/24 scale Jada model of a 1972 Pontiac Trans Am. Got this Big Time Muscle diecast kit at Wallymart on closeout because it was cheap and it has an extra set of wheels- two skinnies and two big slicks for a pro street version, if desired. I kept the latter for another project and went with the dub-style wheels; but a change-over is real easy by just removing four chassis screws. Wheels are on straight axles. Some folks are not partial to the exaggerated styling of Jada, but this car looks current and tough to me. At least it came "fully painted" and the price was right.
Thanks for looking!

WarbirdTA 07-08-2008, 06:33 PM My local Wal-Mart never got these.
Found one at a local K-Mart though.
Had to drive back out to Los Angeles area to find some more colors.
I just have to have all the Firebird/Trans Am diecast I can find.
I like them.
George
ECchopper 07-09-2008, 11:18 AM Very cool car, isn't it? I prefered the Pro Street look. Looking for the yellow version.

WarbirdTA 07-09-2008, 07:35 PM I've got the Trans Am in four colors (missing the red) in the regular versions, no extra wheels.
I only have black and yellow with the extra wheels.
I can't find the blue.
I keep mine new in the box, unless I grab dupes.
Sorry, no dups of the yellow, and I don't want to get rid of my "onezies".

WarbirdTA 07-10-2008, 06:42 PM I just looked at my black and yellow versions with the extra wheel sets.
They are marked Hobby Edition on a silver sticker-like thing on the side of the front of the box.
Did your blue version have that as well?
George
roadrner 07-11-2008, 07:56 PM They look great. Just watch out for the speed bumps. rr

Looks soooooo much better with that wheel/tire combo:thumbsup:
superduty455 07-16-2008, 01:10 PM I've got a couple myself. I wish they would adjust the year correctly. The 72's had stripes and not birds. These would be more correct for 1973.
Anyway, enough nit picking. I like the way these things look. I really like the black one.

Yes it does. Some of the Hobby Edition cars are now showing up in places like Toys R Us.
