DOM-19,
I had the same proplem and was told to shutoff the throttle fail safe in the radio. It worked for me. Another way to stop the problem is to put a receiver pack in the car.

Make sure you turn the "Auto battery" feature off. You want the first LED to blink 2 times. This sets it to "Competition Mode" and you can run any battery and it does not have a voltage cutt off. In Auto mode it is "supposed" to select the battery type by voltage but it does not always work right.

Eric One More Question ==even If I'm Running Li-po==make It Two Blinks?????

katf1sh
07-08-2008, 06:40 PM
nooooooooo

the one blink is lipo mode the esc will shut down when the pack voltage reaches a certain point..

2 blinks is nimh mode

you will not run more than 2 laps in lipo made when using 4 cell nimh packs....

billy bruce sent all his lrp esc's back for the same issues..

tom pedano has sent his back and they still do the same thing?

i have owned two lrp's and they work flawless.....go figure?

Does anyone know why this is happening? I've watched several 10.5 races where the leader running a lrp loses because it shuts down.

Mine shut down in a 21.5 lipo car. Of course everyone said it was the Spectrum. Took the reciever out and ran it all day in a 13.5 4 cell car. no problems... Go figure
I'm thinking there is something wrong with the bec in the lrp??

Houston we have a problem!!!!
I have had repeated LRP Speedo shut downs over the last year. I have personally sent 7 ESC’s in for repair. They said 3 of them had no problems, and 4 of them were exchanged for new ones at around $110.00ea. So I installed a new one and went racing the next weekend. Even the new one shuts down for no reason. LRP then told me that the Futaba Fasst system was to blame and that adding a capacitor to the receiver may help. So I did that, it did help, but did not fix the problem. Tried a receiver pack, still no good. So I removed the Fasst system and installed the trusty old Futaba PCM receiver along with another new ESC. Still no luck, it even shuts down with the PCM. I am sorry but PCM has been around since when? The 80’s? How on earth then can it be a receiver problem? If you can’t even build an ESC to work with the old PCM, then maybe you should not be making them at all! LRP refuses to admit that it has a problem, and dealing with them and their rep’s is nothing short of a joke!!!! I have even had them get very mad at me for merely mentioning the fact that they might have a problem, even though I was only trying to help and I was trying very hard to be as tactful and as polite as possible. Obviously they are not interested in improving their product. It seems that the only thing that they what to do is point fingers, to hope that somebody else fixes it, and then to stick their head in the sand and hope that this problem just simply goes away. Well guess what, it will fix itself, because less and less racers are using LRP in oval racing, just like Custom Works here in Florida, it’s a dying breed.
To date I have changed all of the electronics in my car, many times, and the only common thing left is the LRP ESC.
This past weekend I know of 3 others that also had problems.
I am so glad that I did not buy the newest LRP version, as it seems to be having a multitude of problems.
So now I am finished with LRP after 8 years of use, and now the search for a replace ESC starts. This is very difficult because I have not been impressed with any of the current ESC’s available today!

I have personally only had one problem with a lrp quantum2(one month old) it went up in flames while racing. They told me to send them 100.00 dollars and that was before there "limited lifetime warranty". I since have a tekin small compaq and has been enjoyable.
