Howdy, I have this engine and the magnets on the inside of the flywheel came apart and stuck to the stator. There was no damage to the stator however can they be reattached or am I doomed to buy a new flywheel? If I have to buy a new flywheel can anyone recommend a reasonable store?
Model# CV 725S
Spec # 69540 Thanks, Dave

I have never had any success reinstalling the magnets on the flywheel, but it's worth a shot. Be sure that if you try this that you install the magnets with alternating polarity (north south, north south, etc...) or it will not work. JB weld is a good adhesive to use.

You might want to check with some local repair shops, many have graveyards that they can rob a flywheel off and sell you at a pretty decent discount, compared to a new one.

Good Luck...

Thanks for the heads up on the magnets. I will buy a new flywheel and hope it won't happen again. My mechanic doing the work has two Kohler motors in for the same problem. The other is a 20HP and the lose magnets wiped out the stator bending it. This will be the last Kohler motor I will ever own. Thanks again, Dave Sweet Home, Or
