This is the most recent video I have when I was still cycling the packs and running some badland tires (heavy). I'm not sure if anyone got any video from the race sunday.

Looks good you need to come out to Medina and run some time.

I'm hoping to come out to get some practice in after work one day next week at Medina. I'm waiting for an RRP slipper setup to come in because I TOASTED the stocker at the race on Sunday at Classic. Ended up locking it down to get by and a few parts didn't appreciate that at all.

Were you at Classic Sunday?

It sure did look good going around the track. The nitro vehicles had no chance . Did you design the chassis and brace pieces using a CAD program and cut with CNC mill? Just curious. I play with AutoCad and am an amatuer machinist but have no CNC interface or machinery controllers yet...

That Revo platinum in the second MT heat sure was keeping up with my lap times and lap counts  Woulda been nice to run against him.

Yes I designed the chassis in CAD. The version you seen is actually just a rough first proto. I still have more I want to do to it to lighten it up seeing as how everything seems to be working smoothly. I'm pretty happy with it besides runtime on the 6S1P pack. I think 2300mah will come up just a hair short in a 10 minute main.

I use a local machinist to do my machining. I provide him with the 3D DXF file and he machines it for me. He's been pretty swamped lately though so I have tried not to bother him to much. I have endless projects for him :)

Very cool. Any thoughts to lowering the center of gravity? Then it probably would not be a monster truck! This is in the Monster Truck forum.

I never started this whole project to make a racer actually. I had an E-maxx and was not having fun with it because of run times and power. After running brushless in my stadium truck it got me thinking and has evolved from there. It's pretty close to a truggy. Still a locked 2 speed tranny (for now) I can't find the lap times from the race Sunday but I want to say it might be close to the truggy times.

I do have another design in the works that would make it a truggy but I doubt I'll ever go through with it. I believe another company did something similar before from what others have told me. It took a while to get where my maxx is now and not sure I want to devote the time to turn it into a maxx truggy

I'd like to build an electric 1/8 truggy (and buggy) with belt drive. Batteries and motor right down the middle... something I've been thinking about. Belt drive is in my opinion faster and more efficient. It also eliminate the torque steer/chassis roll effect you have when you run shaft drive.

Better be some serious belts :)

You're right though. A few months back I got my first losi and it was the XXX-4 and I couldn't believe how smooth the drive train on that buggy is.

The 1/8 onroad cars have had belts for years and they put alot more power through the drive train than an offroad vehicle.

Make sure you bring that 1:10 4wd out next time.

I had it out there in practice. It was all red. I didn't race it since I didn't see anyone else with one then I seen the 4wd buggy in the stadium truck class.

Sweet E-Maxx. I had a brushless E-Maxx but it was nothing like yours.
