Hi guys, whats the proper way to set the vales on an ohv engine. I have a briggs single cylinder 14 hp ic engine, and I took the head off to replace the head gasket and I just want to know how to put it back on. On my first attempt I put the valve push rods in and then put the head on, torqued the bolts and set the valve lash while the piston was at top dead center. Is this correct? Dutch

You can do it that way. I usually will install the head, then the push rods, and finally the rocker arms. Set the lash and install the valve cover.

10-4, will do, btw, the fuel pump was fouled on the husquavarna, thats why the blades would take so long, the motor wasmt getting enough fuel under a load. Dutch
