I have a 5hp Briggs and i have a bad oil leak into the combustion chamber. this is causing gas to get into the oil and make it run like 4$$hole. so I'm pretty sure i need to replace the rings. But while i'm in there what else should i replace?
Model: 130212

Also how could i find out the year of my engine?

You will also need a sump gasket and head gasket, you might want to check the condition of the valves while your in it, as well as most of the internals, to see if anything has any abnormal wear.

The first two digits of the code number represent the year the engine was built, in your case it was 1991.

Its the gasket that goes between the engine block and the "side cover" where the PTO goes through. You can use the gasket or just get a tube of Black Silicon Ultra and use it.
