I just went to my local wally world to hunt some cars down and i found the whole set and this was on the front peg. Its the Black 1967 Shelby GT500 Drag Series diecast. Its 1:64 Scale and very awesome... I went hunting for the Hotwheels Corvette ZR1 & Telsa Roadster but came up short, It doesnt matter because i won both on ebay earlier today

I picked one up after seeing this post, what a very cool car! It is a bit odd though, they got their research a bit mixed up and morphed two different types of cars together!

It is marked as a funny car with TF/FC which is also incorrect. Just a made up label combining "Top Fuel" (think rail dragster) and Funny Car. While a funny car IS a fuel car, it is not referred to as a Top fuel car, that is only the rails.

But the strange mixture is the body it's self. They used photos of the new '67 Pro Mod carbon bodies in the various current Pro Mod series to design the overall shape. And I must say the really nailed it to! It looks great, but it's a pro mod body, not a funny car.

Ah, you say, but it opens like a funny car, so therefor it must be right? Wrong, Pro Mods must have a left hand door, be left drive and do not allow the body to lift. Pro mods matain a rear window in most series (like the ALCOHOL engines. Oh yea, pro mods do not tend to be fuel cars, in some series they run nitro ( thus a "Fuel Car") , but most require just alcohol only.

While funny cars ARE fuel cars, (but not listed as "top Fuel" like the TF/FC on the window) they do not have the scoop, the flat wing or the rear window.

It's a current design, so this is not a throw back or retro ride. With the funny style construction, this would have fit back in the Gasser FX or factory experiential classes in the 60's Think the Malco Gasser or Mr. Gasket mustang's of Ohio George for the 60's and 70's.

So what's the point to all this? Not one! I just though it was pretty neat that this was a blend of two very different types of drag cars. I think it looks great, and with the body is has, it looks like the AWESOME pro mod that it is. I find it fit in perfect with my Muscle Machines Pro Mods from the Super Chevy series of a few years ago.

So I also look forward to finding the blue one as well!

I have been looking for that one. It does look odd but hey, an FC from Jada? You gotta love it!

I haven't seen the 1/64th version yet but have found the 1/24th's... Here's a tip if you open your stuff, don't leave the body propped up, I did and in a very short time, the body prop was bent, then broken.
