MX131 in association with FTMS will host the East vs West Nitro Shootout on July 12th 2008! Come represent your side of the state at the inaugural edition of this annual event at the facilities of MX131 located in Martin, MI! Points will be collected in all classes and then added up to determine which side of the state wins and that side will be awarded with an exchange trophy until next year's event! Come out to represent your side of the state! The top 3 individuals in the A-main of each class will receive awards.

I think we might have overlooked that race when picking the date, as we were focusing on a nitro only event, but you are right, there are several people that race both that do participate in the MORL series. As of right now, we will still stick to July 12th for the East West Nitro Shootout!

Racing today showed again that the track layout is awesome for racing! The East vs West will be great! Come all out with your nitro cars and have some fun!

It is a fun layout! Can't wait until the 12th see you there!!!

We have arranged a dedicated video person for the event. Hopefully we will get nice footage and will be able to offer a DVD of the event!

I am very impressed what you guys are doing for the racers! A-main hobbies and General RV are huge sponsors. I'm telling ya this track is at a perfect location right in between GR and Kzoo. MX131 throws some awesome races. We have the two best race tracks on the WestSide, MX131 and Duke's. Let me tell you there are other tracks(I think) :p and they are mere wanna bee's. I can see huge events at these two places, and they have the facilities to do it. Word will get out. I have a great idea for advertising and this could be all it takes(Edwin check your PM). When you can pull one of the biggest sponsors like A-Main hobbies to your track your doing something right. I can see a huge turnout at this race so ya better start early or at least have some of those huge mobile lights that you can rent. Not no little garage flood lamps :drunk: Could you just imagine trying to run a race with halogen flood lamps around the track! "Hey was that my truck or was it my trucks shadow passing me" :lol: :lol: I'm just glad to FINALLY see that the Westside has two real tracks thanks to Duke and MX crew. We have been waiting for this for a couple years now. :p So when is that 40,000 sq ft building going up!

Al Horne was nice enough to throw the East vs. West shootout on the East side, now thanks to MX131 we can return the favor with it being on the West side! Welcome East-siders!

Went over to the track this afternoon and it survived the storms from yesterday. There were some ruts that developed from the water running, but mostly it was in a pretty good shape. It will be in perfect shape for the East vs West Nitro Shootout!

Man we had some wicked rain fall in a short period of time. I know Allegan got hit pretty hard. You guys got a heck of a crew so it will be perfect for next weekend. Al stopped out and from what he wrote he sounded like he was impressed. You guys did a lot to get this track up so fast this year. :thumbsup:

Yes, it will be a 1 day event, but since we're only running nitro, we should be done before dark, as we start racing at 11 AM.
