I just downloaded the newest Firefox browser for my Mac (Eeeww! YOU own one of THOSE!) G5. Vastly better than any other browser. Fast!

Running it here as well on a Windows PC. I will never use IE again. Like Y3a said, she's fast and I love the add-ons you can get are great.

I, too, use Firefox.

IE is nothing but a virus magnet. I have no such issues with Firefox.

Love Firefox...my IE keeps crashing!!! Hope they bring a patch for the vulnerability ASAP...but even with that I will still use FF over IE any day!

How much does it cost?

How much does it cost?

Free. Go to Mozilla.org

They also have a free email client called Thunderbird.

IE 7, deleted it one week out it was so bad! That's when I switched, yet again, back to Foxfire. IE never again.
Been using Foxfire 3 Beta for a couple of months. Love it. Downloaded the official version 5 minutes before midnight, becoming part of the eight million or so who thumbed their noses at Bill Gates and Microsoft.
Next up, Linux Ubuntu.

Could someone tell me what Firefox gives over IE? Other than speed, what plugins are included? what about compatibility with Java apps and oter third party apps?

Only that IE is of the Devil. :)

I've needed a replacement for Netscape since they announced their demise. Firefox (Being Mozilla also) imported my Netscape bookmark file flawlessly. I'd been afraid I was gonna have to switch to IE, and have to slowly build my favorites all over (My Netscape bookmark file is 15 years old, with looootsa links!). But I switched over to Firefox and was browsing in just a few minutes.

I've been a FF user since the get go, but 3 is either still beta or the most buggy version yet. Safari seems like the most rock solid browser there is.

I tried Safari but got tires of the constant 'Apple Updater' wanting to install iTunes even though I don't have it, told it I don't want it and never intend to have it.

I can't see pics in Wikipedia like I used to before I upgraded to FF 3

Some of those pics are ads that FF blocks. I see all other relevant material and pictures though.
