Hosted at Jackson R/C Raceway
Hello Everyone
Since the first Oval Only event went well at Jackson R/C Raceway we are going to do it again.
We are going to do it on Saturday September 6th. We are also going to have the track open for practice Friday night September 5th from 6-10pm so if guys want to come up Friday night and practice they can. This will be an oval only race. The plan is to start early Saturday afternoon and finish the mains up at night under the lights!!! The classes will be as follows 13.5 (Novak motors only), Gas Truck and Gas Touring Car. We are willing to run any other classes of the racers choice but you must have at least 4 to make it a class and we will run it as an exhibition class. There will be more details to follow but right now we just wanted to get the date out there so everyone can mark it on your calendars.
Hope to see you in the pits.

things to think about

as some of you know i have been doing this way too long.....
with that being said. you need to get ALL of the heats in before the sun sets. if you dont you will have a ROCKET round 3rd round which means if you get a bad run in the last round you may end up further behind then you should be.
another thing would be is all tracks and all of the racers benefit from having soda sprayed on the track. it will cost you maybe 15-20 bucks for that size of track. your tire wear will decrease and everyone will be faster right from the start.
i hope to make this race. and i hope this helps.......

I agree with the soda. I was on the track as soon as it opened (being a new track for me) chased the car through many broken parts as the track changed and grip can up. I was not thinking and a lesson has been learned.

Now I'm not taking anything from Phil but the setup he ran was very close to the last place he and I raced at and I had a car that weekend that was in the show.

If I had not chaseds the track or GRIP was there at the start I would have had a much happier day.

I hope everyone understands that jackson is new to the oval scene.

We are trying to offer a place to race that is enjoyable, competitive, and a top notch facility. That being said,we are always open to suggestions.Remember this was our first major oval race,I think we did a good job, from the people that came up to us at the end of the day.

This track is a club run by racers, not a buissness,so we do have open communication with fellow racers.

We are going to start spraying this sat..We thought it would be more consistent not to spray. But hey you dont know until you try.

Like I said before oval racing is new to us,so we need to learn that aspect of it.Some racers at the end of the day, came up to us and made some suggestions that were positive, and we plan on doing it.

Thanks everyone that attended, and made this race a success.

I just hope this trip I feel better the day of the race and I keep a good car "under" me. As for the spraying talk I say some cheap grape soda and a inexpencive sprayer ans POOF much better traction for all. As I say though what one racer has to race on we all have to race on. Here's to seeing everyone once time allows and my knee is back to working again.

The crew at Jackson did a great job running the races this past weekend. As far as facilities go they have a great place to race and a dedicated staff to run it. The track is super smooth, can't wait to see it under the lights. Spraying the track will only make it a better place to run throughout the day along with the ideas I heard Jeff talk about. I'm having a hard time getting out to race but I would like to get out there one night and it would be nice to see Al, Brock,Doug,John and some others plan a Saturday we can all get together. How about it?

Hello Everyone,
We have some updates for our New Jersey Paved Oval Championships on Sept. 6th at Jackson RC Raceway.
Classes:
-13.5
-Nitro
-Nitro Stadium Truck
We will run any other class as an exhibition class (4 makes a class)
Friday Nite Practice 6-10pm
Saturday The gates will open at 8am and practice will begin at 9am. We will run a controlled practice if it is needed. We were thinking first heat goes off at 2pm and end under the lights, keep in mind it will get dark a little earlier in Sept. then it is now. However if the racers want to start a little sooner/or later we can. Our thinking is you don’t have to get up too early or get home too late.
Hope to see you in the pits

Was the track changed????

Chris08527
08-30-2008, 04:49 PM
Hey guys,
if you did not hear already
basically the clubhouse was broken into fri nite/sat morning and the track was robbed. They took the club laptop and some other mis. items PS2, dremel, ipod sound dock and grape soda, and about 20$ cash that we leave in the fridge to make change. That is why we had to cancel the program for today. YES it sucks, made a police report and the county detective came out and dusted the place but could not get any prints, but did get some good pics of footprints off the door they kicked in.
Sorry to anyone that showed up to race today.
We plan on having our oval race next week!!!

Hello Everyone
Jackson RC is going to postpone this weekend’s RACING due to the hurricane we are going to be getting. Right now according to weather channel.com they are calling for heavy rain and high winds. So instead of everyone trying to figure out a plan, or wait on the weather we think the best thing for the racers is to be proactive and postpone it till next Saturday September 13th. Everything is the same, start time etc.
Hope to see many of you in the pits!!!
Chris JRC

I would agree it was a good call, it's not the first time end of the year asphalt racing was cancelled due to rain. It happened quite often for Seaford in previous years. The bigger thing is many of the racers mighgt have used this as the last race before heading indoors to race carpet. I hope your race will have a good showing when you run it.

For your first year of racing oval at Jackson I would say you guys did good job and hope you will continue next year. Sorry to hear about the robbery that truly sucks and I hope that you can catch the person or people involved. See you next year.

There should be a hard and fast rule that "...it should never rain (or snow) over outdoor, oval racetracks." FYI: There will be an indoor (not on carpet) oval race this Sunday at the Hobbytown "C" in Frederick, Maryland--could be a good time.

I know you guys will have a great time at Hobbytown. That place looks great. I can't make it there on Sunday's. Hopefully on time in the future.

Great day of racing today at Jackson. Good job getting the track dried and prepared for racing after all the rain from yesteday and last night. The Jackson crew seems to always put on a good show, we're looking forward to coming back next year.
