View Full Version : Walt's Hobby Summer Carpet Oval Results: 6/17/08 Week#4
reggie's dad 08-06-2008, 08:26 PM Well I slipped the leash and got some time to run the 21.5 SK car, not to bad for a new car it needs to be smoothed out a little, however I got down to 3.79 where 3.6 is great and 3.8 will put you in the show, all in all probably a great spec motor for that class and not a giant killer for those that don't want to go brushless now. still need to cut n paint a new lid, Bruce said they had 42 racers last tues nite sorry I missed that, :dude:
wait a minute 08-07-2008, 12:44 PM yea, you missed a good night of racing plus the invasion of the canadians.
reggie's dad 08-07-2008, 03:54 PM yea, you missed a good night of racing plus the invasion of the canadians.Mike pm me your phone #, Reggie want's to call you, thanks. :dude:
Steve_B 08-08-2008, 06:46 AM What a turn-out for summer racing!!!!!!! Unbelievable!
Late model class was a hoot!
I see another invasion in the near future....
casper60 08-13-2008, 05:36 PM Has there been any talk of lipo coming anytime soon? I'm trying to figure out what my plans are for the fall season.
wait a minute 08-13-2008, 09:39 PM " if you build it they will come"
reggie's dad 08-13-2008, 09:56 PM " if you build it they will come" :thumbsup:That's what I thought about the 21.5 SK but I already got some neg feedback last nite, and it wasn't all that fast. :dude:
casper60 08-13-2008, 10:19 PM Has anyone ever tried 13.5 there?
I'm a driver without a home... someone has to take me in... lol
oh yea, if you want to get rid of that 21.5, LMK...
wait a minute 08-14-2008, 12:02 AM on rare occasion there is a 13.5 class. last time i think it ran was spring carpet classic race.
casper60 08-14-2008, 12:06 AM So that wouln't even work.... I only ask because the similarities in speed betwwen 13.5 and 21.5 lipo
reggie's dad 08-14-2008, 05:39 AM So that wouln't even work.... I only ask because the similarities in speed betwwen 13.5 and 21.5 lipoNip this was 21.5 with the 1600 spec batts, it's a spec class so I only changed the motor n esc and to tell the truth it's not quite as fast as my brushed motor, it's just where we are going to end up anyways. 17.5 is the class here as the short track supports near stock speeds better for the average driver, when the fast guys come inside for the winter you could find 3 guys to run 13.5 I'll bet. :dude:
casper60 08-14-2008, 09:27 PM The question is would they be willing to run 13.5 with 21.5 lipo? I've already commited myself to switching to lipo and now Bandit pulls the plug. My options are getting Walts to run it as a class or I go to a specials only schedule which more or less screws me because i have nowhere to practice. Crappy thing is even if I go to walts, I start from scratch because I have 0 data to work with. Not to mention what works at walts means diddly squat anywhere else because of the carpet.
reggie's dad 08-15-2008, 04:16 PM Hate to hit you when your down but no one races 13.5 there anyways, if they did I think Walts would be open to that as other tracks are trying that now.:dude:
casper60 08-15-2008, 04:19 PM Yea, I think I might just finish up the new car when I get the parts I ordered, put everything in the classified section and call it a career. Just not worth chasing it at this point.
dannyb 08-17-2008, 11:42 AM Here's some videos from Walt's:thumbsup:http://community.webshots.com/album/562874571seKzHZ
Steve_B 08-17-2008, 02:09 PM 13.5 is great at walts.. jeremy and myself will both have 21.5's and lipo's for this winters carpet racing. Just waiting to see what battery most track are going to run. So any time we go to walts we will be willing to run 21.5L .
casper60 08-17-2008, 02:12 PM I have a couple 3200's on the way along with a 5000 (which seems to be the directing it's going), so I'll be set either way. Just have to see how things shake out.
reggie's dad 08-17-2008, 05:47 PM Here's some videos from Walt's:thumbsup:http://community.webshots.com/album/562874571seKzHZnice stuff Dan, too bad you are always racing when we race the SKs :dude:
wait a minute 08-18-2008, 07:29 PM nice stuff Dan, too bad you are always racing when we race the SKs :dude:
all he has to do is mount it back on the car or ask someone to video it when hes on the track. i'm sure theres got to be someone more than willing to do it.

casper60 08-19-2008, 12:08 AM We'll see what shakes out. I may just come down and hang out that night. Still trying to figure out what I'll be doing for the season when it comes.
wait a minute 08-19-2008, 12:21 PM Fall Season Doesnt Start Til October So You Still Have A Little Bit Of Time To Get Things Together.
casper60 08-19-2008, 01:13 PM just a matter of lipo or not. If they don't have a lipo class I'll have to find a place that does.

wait a minute 09-10-2008, 12:50 PM  bump
casper60 09-10-2008, 09:27 PM never got a response about 21.5 so I guess that would be a no meaning I'm out
wait a minute 09-10-2008, 09:40 PM the only thing i can tell ya is call the shop and ask for bruce or todd. i think at this time it will only be nimi cells. i dont think they plan on having any lipo classes but u can ask them and see what they say.
wait a minute 09-10-2008, 09:42 PM racing continues with the fall season for tuesdays starting this tuesday. if you have a 10th scale pan car, s&K spec car, 10th scale gearbox truck, losi slider or late mod dust them off and get them ready to go.
casper60 09-10-2008, 09:53 PM I think at this point I'm just going to pack everything up until snowbirds. Even that is up in the air because the Daytona 24 will either be the week before, or the same week as snowbirds basically eliminating that as well because I have to work that race.
wait a minute 09-14-2008, 10:07 AM bump
casper60 09-14-2008, 04:51 PM Putting a 17.5 car together so I will be there Tuesday. New Batts won't be here yet but I have some 4200's I can run.
wait a minute 09-14-2008, 10:38 PM cool..there should be a good number of people for 10th scale 17.5 for this weeks racing. i went there today to run a couple packs through my car and it overall seems better than it was.
wait a minute 09-14-2008, 10:39 PM Putting a 17.5 car together so I will be there Tuesday. New Batts won't be here yet but I have some 4200's I can run.
that mean u will be hopefully running on a regular basis on tuesdays and or saturdays?
casper60 09-14-2008, 11:23 PM Tuesday's are a definate, Saturday's will be hit and miss. I do plan on going to the track in Falconer on occasion to run 21.5. If anything just to get some track time with that combo before Snowbirds.
Fortunately I only have 1 Grand-Am race to work (this weekend) and the season is over so I'm set with that till the 24 hour race, so my calender is clear until then.
wait a minute 09-14-2008, 11:57 PM callin all canadians..this is a special invitation..racing starts this tuesday..come on down and have some fun.:wave::wave:

come on down...the more the marrier. we run 10th scale pancar with 17.5--4 cell and a good starting rollout would be around 2.7-2.8.
if you read back a couple pages i posted schedule and all the classes.
mart22 09-29-2008, 03:36 PM what kind of tire is the best on your track jaco or bsr and which color at each wheel. will help me on my starting setup.
thanks
martin
casper60 09-29-2008, 03:47 PM Jaco's make nice paperweights...
Go with the BSR... Black on the rf, whites the rest of the way around. I have been running something different simply because i didn't have anything else but I have tires on the way and will be going that route.
Rollout all depends on your motor. 3.5 is a good place to start, check your temps and lap times and adjust accordingly
