In the first two pictures, in the lane closest to the camera, that's actually a steep banked sweeper... The camera kind of makes it look like a narrow lane.

Scott good call on the camera angle. You really don't get to see the benefit of the bank. The fourth picture has some resemblance but i will go out and shoot a few more pictures.

That really doesn't answer Eric's question. What time will racing start? I remember hearing 6 or 7 o'clock. I can't make it this week, but I will for the following week.

Kid Kahuna

Nothing set in stone right now, but we will have the dirt track open, AND carpet oval inside. I like the 6 start time, but really depends on how many participants!! Both tracks will be open for practice and if EVERYONE agrees it would not be any hassel to set up heats. I can't wait to see the Slash Class run!!:woohoo:

We will be running on July 5th (Saturday) and I will post up a flyer with times and classes. What does everyone think for a start time this Sat??? Let hear what is best for you guys!!! Suggestion for dirt classes for the 5th?? I know my Slash will be in by then, let's keep it as much stock as we can -- OK?

These are the rules we will be running at Medina and I will get with Lance at Have Fun so there will be no problems if you want to go out an run your Slash at other tracks.

I think if the local tracks "STICK TO" the guidelines that Bad has posted, the class will have the chance to grow!! I would love to see a series, between the different tracks, and welcome any discussions on how to keep it going!!
THIS IS GONNA BE FUN!!!! :woohoo::woohoo:( last smiley I will ever post! LOL!!)

What does everyone think for a start time this Sat??? Let hear what is best for you guys!!! Suggestion for dirt classes for the 5th??

I like whatever time allows for 3 qualifiers and the mains.
5 minute quals with 3 minutes between heats..
no break between round 1 and 2 with a 15min break between 2 and 3 and a 10 minute break before the mains... unless running ahead of schedule then break can be extended.
All mains 7 minutes except for stock truck which should be 5 minutes.

With 6 or less heats, it should take about 4 hours.

As for classes, I don't think the wheel should be reinvented on this.

Here's my suggestion

stock truck (27t or 13.5... yes Howard, all tracks allow the 13.5 in stock)
mod truck
mod 2wheel
mod 4wheel
1/8 open (open to allow electric and nitro until enough to seperate)
truggy/MT open (if enough to separate truggy and MT, then good)

Oh yeah, I forgot the Slash class!! How could I do that?! Normally nobody runs stock 2wheel... if they do, add the class. But 2wheel is generally a very small class on outdoor tracks. Honestly, on this track modified probably won't have an any advantage so an open truck class could be added to combine stock and mod..... but that sometimes causes problems.. I'd wait and get a feel on how seperate stock and mod classes are. It honestly sucks to have 8 heats with 8 different classes but there's not much you can do except combine stock and mod classes. I'm just glad nobody is pulling for a 19t class!

Racers from Ohio or surrounding states... (or anywhere for that matter)

We are considering adding a Traxxas Slash Class to the "Flashlight Rumble" Electric Off-Road Trophy Race to be held at Fasttrax in Springfield, Ohio on July 26th. See link for race details.

http://www.rctech.net/forum/showthread.php?t=220657

This is still in concept stages, nothing firm. However, it's only about a month away and in order to get trophies etc, they would need some positive feedback or verbal commitments from some folks soon. The race organizer is interested in having this class if there is enough interest, and I am trying to gauge that interest for him. Please post in the thread for the race (above) or send me a PM if you are seriously interested.

The class rules would most likely be kit motor, kit tires, 6cell NimH or 7.4v Lipo, and some minimum weight (unofficially, haven't discussed that with the race organizer yet).

how do the 1/18 scales handle the track?? Thanks,. Brad

chase67

Baker.
We had a few guys run their 1/18 when we first opened and because the track hadn't been swept they didn't have great success.
Subsequently though they have had good handling with their cars but only after the track has been soaked and primarily later in the night under the lights. The track stays wet and provides some awesome grip.Best bet is to give it a shot...will keep you posted otherwise.
