Nice job GL, I scored 2 of the converts, but can't we do something about those funky front rims on the SPEED car?

I scored a Boss. Haven't seen the 'vert yet.

I found the Boss too. Think I'll free it and remove the funky tampo on the rear fender. I was comparing the body & quality to a premium Racing Champs (American Muscle) '69 Boss and I have to say the GL kicks it's butt! I am way impressed w/ GL.

VERY NICE Ward ! I'm still not wild about the front wheel and rim combination.

Yea, it looks a lot like a front tractor tire mounted on a 17" honda wheel!:freak:

I think they tried to keep it old school, small tire in front and a big one in the back.

'69 Stang, That looks sweet! You beat me to it!

Thanks GT, yea, I understand the "Big N' Littles" but the "little" just did not caome out very well!:)

For all these drag vibe rides there doing (and more are on the way) I wish they would knock off the Weld wheels that everyone uses. They would work great as GL is not trying to replicate a vintage drag look, but old cars racing in todays trim.

Hmmm....
I thought all of these I 've seen on the pegs had flames on them?
Does this car have flames that I am not seeing? OR, am I confusing it with a different model???
Ward, did you remove flames from yours?
I'm either curious or confused! :freak: :)

No flames. What you see is what you get. You must be thinking of something different.

I hear you 69Stang. I was thinking that if they used the rear tire on the front and went w/ bigger (possibly slicks) in back it would look much better. Was this car one that actually raced in the show?

Hello everyone,

We have heard your comments on the drag wheels on this car and others. Actually we wanted to unveil our new set of drag wheels and tires in this SPEED 2 series however they weren't quite finalized. But you will see them coming up in MCG 8 "Street and Strip." These are brand new slick tires and wheels that I think will be more what you are looking for.

I hope everyone likes them. Keep the comments coming!

Yep, that's right, no flames! And as the the question of "Was this car one that actually raced in the show?" I don't belive so. All there other drag cars have been fantasy peices, so I belive this one is as well but not sure.

And thanks so much for the post Matt, I know we are all looking forward to the new series! Keep em' coming!

And while your at it, anwser my question on the Indy Car castings on the UTH board. I would love to know where the "Golden" diecast casting came from!

But the way, another side by side shot of the orgional and modified. This casting never had flames, but it is a good idea!

Hello again everyone,

In reference to the flames, well you are both right. The flames are "ghost" flames. And in this case, by ghost I mean nearly invisible. The contrast was supposed to be low but the metallic was supposed to pop them. They are a little too hard to see in the final version. Check the front fenders and the hood. They are there.

And if you are lucky enough to find a green machine - WOW - you won't be disappointed. They definitely are not ghost flames there.

As for the UTH question 69stang, I will try and track that down. What forum was it under?

Thanks again for reading everyone,

- Matt

Matt, it's at the top of the main General Discussion board on the "Undert The Hoos" site. Very cool mystery, neat car though.

As for the flames, I stand corrected, they ARE there! I can't belive I missed them, and they do look pretty cool (no pun!) Thanks for the post with that info!

The different style wheels look horrible...
