OK, I was watching Galactica tonight and a familiar Cialis commercial came on. It's the one where the couple is about to get busy when their college-age daughter arrives to interrupt. Blah, blah, lots of talk, product info, etc. I was instantly drawn back in by a shot of the couple in what appears to be an art gallery. This gallery is the same building (and nearly the exact same angle) where we first met Laura Roslin in the miniseries. It was the doctor's office where she gets the word of her cancer and we briefly see a firefly class ship out the window. The architecture is very distinctive. Anyone know what gallery this is?

Yeah, I thought there would be another thread about tonight's amazing episode. HOLY FRAK!!! Is it possible to have too many revelations in one episode? This one was loaded. Where do we go now??

Where do we go now? Thats easy!

Back to the doctors and get more of those dang pills! :freak:

So....they were at Earth....but I wonder if it is the same planet or system that 'WE' know as Earth etc etc....not that we don't have the capacity to blow our selves up....thats a given.......but who needs bombs?....greed alone is killing us at a slow and agonizing rate.... enough of that!

The last two episodes have made up for the whole season so far.....

I gotta take my pills and go to bed...and now the infamous words of a awesome Rat!

"Bye-bye my humble Wilbur. Fare thee well Charlotte you old schemer. This will be a night to remember!"

I liked it with one exception:Adama's little hissy fit after the Tighe revelation. I didn't buy it, it seemed more like some ill-conceived actor's exercise than the Adama we've been watching for four years.

Still, a pretty cool episode, was I the only one half-way expecting to see the remains of the Statue of Liberty? And I'm really glad they brought back Lucy Lawless. she's had some great moments this season.

Is that episode 10? Will hopefully see it Monday or Tuesday after a workmate has downloaded it... This season is really shaping up. Hope the writers have it all planned out because I can't figure out where they're going with it.

Maybe, but everybody has a breaking point. That was just too much for him on top of everything else that's been going sideways in his life.

I definatly have to disagree.

As Jeff said, everyone has their breaking point. You find out your best friend of 30 years is not who you thought he was.
Also simply the weight of everything he has been through for the last 30 years. Made me REALLY feel for the guy.
Then the following scenes with Lee and then in the bathrobe. Excellent.

I understand what they were trying to say, I just didn't find the writing or acting believable during his "breakdown". YMMV.

Cool, thanx for that.

I did buy Adama's breakdown. This was certainly a milestone episode. And yes, many of us envisioned the remains of lady liberty.

Ya, I was totally waiting for it in the big reveal. I kept thinking, "how Rod Serling are they going to let this episode be?" They could seriously end the series RIGHT THERE and it would have been a giant frakin' TZ episode. Really nice work with the suspense during all the celebrations while we (the audience) are waiting for the other shoe to drop.

What an excellent episode, it kept you hanging right up to the jump. And with the final scene it leaves you with the question of what next ??? . It could be the Colonials with the Rebel Cylons are right back at the beginning. The Colonials came from a devestated Earth to Kobol then to the 12 Colony's. There are still a lot of unanswered questions. Who is the 12th Cylon? , Starbuck's Destiny is only partially revealed, she found Earth but she is still the harbinger of Death but to whom? The Cylons?, The Coloinsts ? somebody else?. And what of Earth? Will there be a joint Human/Cylon effort to re-terraform Earth to make it habitable. we have a lot to chew over the next 6 to 7 months while we wait for the last 10 or so final episodes.

I keep watching the episodes now just to get to the end of the story, whatever it may be. I have invested too much time in getting to this point to just drop watching the series altogether. I only pay a little attention to each episode, listening for actual revelations while I am doing other things.

I find there are no characters at all in this current 'imagining' that I like or care about. Some of the visuals are interesting and enjoyable to me. Yet I still want to get to the end of the story so I can possibly understand the 'point' of it all.

I enjoyed the episode immensley. "Revelations" indeed!

I like that Apollo got angry and punched Tigh when he saw what it all had done to his father. That was an interesting twist to the character. I also like how it turned around there towards the end and how Apollo didn't go thru w/blowing Tigh and the others out the airlock. It was also a nice twist that he was willing to step forward and try to work w/the Cylons, being totally honest w/them.

I totally bought why Adama went berserk, downed a whole fifth of Ambrosia and then just curled up in to a ball. He's known Tigh for 30 years. Shared ups and downs w/him, was likely there for Tigh's wedding as well as Tigh there for his and for the birth of Adama's children. They've Served together, fought together and fought each other. And then it turns out that Tigh is One Of Them? I've seen where people in the Meat World have committed suicide for less traumatic experiences.

And then the Big Reveal after they got to Earth! Whoa!

I recall reading a couple months ago that the Earth they find is going to be our Earth, but in the 22nd Century. That gives us plenty of time to Blow Ourselves Up Real Good as we see the landscape appear to be in this episode.

I wonder where that was meant to be. It left me w/the impression they were trying to indicate it was New York City and have to admit that I, too, was expecting to see some sort of mostly destroyed Lady Liberty in the distance.

I wonder what the Rad Count was on those Geiger Counters? I'm also curious to know how long had passed since whatever event occured that blasted the landscape like that. Was it really some sort of nuclear holocaust? Or was it more likely an Extinction Level Natural Disaster type of event? A comet or asteroid impact, or perhaps a major volcanic event? or maybe an unprecidented shifting of the continental plates?

I'm leaning towards it being something more along the lines of we destroyed ourselves, tho. It seemed that those Rad Detectors were buzzin' about sumthin'.

That was a result of "Our Cylons" revolting and doing a "Caprica" here on Earth.

Where do we go now??

Adama and Roslin will order a mission based on a controversial theory of time travel, sending a Viper into the past to circumvent the apocalypse. Richard Lynch will guest star.

Rewatched it last night, I hope somebody does a garage kit of the Demetri, I think it's the coolest looking ugly ship since Firefly went off the air. On second viewing, the fifth Cylon still seems like a huge plot hole that was missed. I know there was a lot going on onboard, but somebody still should have noticed there's still one skinjob unaccounted for.

Adama' temper tantrum would have had more impact if he hadn't done the same thing when he trashed the model ship.

I think EJO's acting is better than the material he's given. Adama seems to only have two layers.

Whispering and Rage.

El Gato

^ But that was different though. He trashed the model in anger/grief that Starbuck died. In this one, he trashed his bathroom in anger/grief because his best friend is an "enemy" and he must be killed to save the hostages. :)

Seriously, I totally bought the Adama breakdown. As Jeff said and others echoed, everyone has a breaking point. Pile on stress on top of stress on top of other layers of stress and it wears you down, no matter how cool, calm and collected you may be otherwise.

We keep forgetting that the story started with everyone losing their friends, families and home in an unimaginable holocaust and it continues over the next couple of years with people living with the fear of constantly pursued by hostiles, possibly infiltrated by the enemy, looking for a mythical sanctuary and tasked with trying to recreate some semblance of society while on the run... and we're surprised that these characters don't act "rational" or "normal"? Come on! I know if I were to be placed in the exact same situation I'd be wondering "What's the meaning of it all and why should I care?" I would not be surprised if I'm not quite the same person.

But yeah, my wife said she was also expecting to see Lady Liberty in the background. Personally, I was expecting Gaeta to say, "Multiple DRADIS contacts, looks like nuclear warhead signatures" during the celebratory, "YAY we made it scene" with Apollo doing a table dance at CIC.

I wanted StarFleet to show up, raise shields, and kick butt.

"Spock, what are they?
Scanning now Captain. Primitive weaponry, projectile weapons and atomics, their engines can only leapfrog into warp briefly, no shields."

"Bones, any hot chicks?
Yes but none of them are human, Some sort of robot girls.
Yeessss!!!! No need for phasers. I'll conquer them in about an hour or so."

Yeah I watched it, but with my finger on the fast forward button.

The best acting there was the guy who got drooled on. He didn't go 'Gross!!'

JeffG

Sure Starfleet is advanced, but they should'nt turn their noses up at certain 'primitive' technologies; a nuke is more than capable of damaging a Starfleet ship, and destroying it altogether if it's shields are down.

I thought that too and I now know who the final Cylon is. It's Dr. Z!
No no no! Not Galactica 1980 Dr. Z but an talking, orange Orangutan named Dr. Zaius!

"Earth may have gotten checked off earlier than we anticipated, but let’s remember: we have the 12th Cylon name floating around there, combined with everything else. Hopefully, the final eleven hours (Rumours have them adding a third hour to the finale) and this fall’s potential prequel movie (on top of back-door pilot prequel Caprica) could perhaps shed some light on the path moving forward, if only because chances are we’re going to go crazy with anticipation before that point and will need another hit to get us through the break. I plan on going back through the first half with Ronald D. Moore’s Podcast Commentaries in the Fall to lead up to it, so there’s an idea to keep us going. But, for now? I’m more than satisfied with what we received here"

Ha...what? Has anyone else cought anyting on this?
