One request to see a WIP of the M8A replication is enough for me.
Here's what I started with.

One of the things that can turn a toy into model is detailing. Open vent work if possible is a must.

The inside metal is back-cut at the deepest point of the vent, to the point of just breaking through. Then its opened from the front with an X-acto blade.http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee168/clearhooter/M8ABackCut.jpg
Several of the velocity stacks were broken, and on their best day didn't actually represent the tall tubes that were actually on the 1:1. Replacement stacks are aluminum tube cut to length and placed into "Quick Steel" a two part putty that hardens like its name. I want to make some aluminum valve covers but I'm finding rear deck clearance to be an issue.

My 1/43 junk yard is almost non-existant in comparison to my 1/64. So I found a cheap pull-back Vette that had some nice wheels. Though not exact by the time the centers get blacked out you hopefully won't be able to tell they ain't knock-offs.
Seat belts are blue painters tape cut to length and highlighted with silver.
One of the nice things about older racers is they aren't cover from stem to stern with stickers. Got to make a decal sheet for this one and several other projects that have been waiting for awhile. So next shots will be finished.
