noleboy82 06-11-2008, 11:39 AM or what can be causing this
CraigMBA 06-11-2008, 11:58 AM Steeny drove my car this weekend with 3.5 lipo. We were geared 16 (SIXTEEN)/104 and got it hot enough it melted the servo taped switch I had on the heatsink after 10 or so laps.
The general consensous was that we were overgeared, and needed to be at like 18 or 19 on the pinion and 120 on the spur.

I would say you are way over geared.
We run on a 200' banked track with 3.5 120/21or22 If it is a fast track I would say around 120/24 25 max.

3.5/lipo a bit much :)
swtour 06-11-2008, 02:23 PM Carlton's car w/ STEENY driving it and that 3.5/LIPO was NUTS
What kind of MOD lap times are run on a 285 ft run line track?
I don't know how big the LINDSAY track rolled w/ the 3.5/LIPO, but times were in the 3.7's, and the car never did get settled down it was so fast.

It would be hard to get a 3.5/lipo hooked up on any track :freak::freak:
noleboy82 06-11-2008, 04:22 PM it was planted before allthis started happening
2Groovy4U 06-11-2008, 04:24 PM Have you tried any other motors?
I thought you told me that was a 10,5 motor???? And you had it geared at a 100/47 because you knew that was where I was geared. But the class was 13.5 Thats when I told you you were seroiusly overgeared and drop at least 10 teeth to the 37. Now you are saying it was a 3.5?? plus you never tried a 27. We can't help you at the track if you don't tell us the truth.
ps your car was NEVER planted.

noleboy82 06-12-2008, 09:01 AM i bought it on ebay i called novak and they told me it was a 3.5R i got a 13.5 on the way and my car was hooked on the foams i told u 10.5 because i was going by the timing ring but novak said 3.5 has a black timing ring 10.5 blue iwas told by someone else that 10.5 have a black timing ring but i do wanna think you for all your help wade sorry for the wrong imfo
No problem man...
We can help you out at the track.I pitted right next to you, just ask your questions. But You can't run those foams on the concrete and expect it to work.
I can't make it next race, but I will send that set of caps I let you use back down with Willis and you can have them.
I still think you were getting low voltage to the spectrum receiver and it was kicking out on fail safe.
Need to look at the setttings on that radio next time also.
a 13.5 motor is a good start also, glad you have one on the way.
noleboy82 06-12-2008, 10:31 AM yea i believe your right on the low voltage but dont know what to do to fix it i guess i will do some research there is so much more to electric pan car racing than nitro dirt oval i really do appreciate everyones help

Are you running spektrum? You don't need it it either way but you can if you are using spektrum.
noleboy82 06-12-2008, 11:33 AM yes i am running spektrum
2Groovy4U 06-12-2008, 02:29 PM yes i am running spektrum
It's up to you then. I run 4-cell mod (3.5) with a GTB (no Cap) and no cap for Spektrum. But if you feel you need it just look for it on tower hobbies or ask your local shop to get it. They are only around 5.00
