Of course one of the real reasons was having aliens that we never heard about before.

That and who wanted to see what happened before TOS, I wanted to see what happened after Voyager ... or even DS9 in the alpha quadrant.
But not stories from this non-existing "Enterprise".

Remember from TMP - The pictures of all the ships to carry the name "Enterprise" - The NX-01 was not there, so it didn't exist......

The writing was horrible, the acting was horrible, and the direction was even worse.
Plus they ended it by having to go back to STNG.

Paramount was only trying to milk the ST name for whatever it could.
Regardless of what is going on today the ST franchise is a dead horse. It will never get back to the glory days of the nineties.

Trip was the best character on that show! The one thing I didn't care for was having Trip hook up with T'Pol. I just couldn't see the chemistry. Now, Archer and T'Pol - I could see!

i am a big st fan but found it hard to warm up to enterprise, ( watched it regardless), theme music with words threw me, and i keep waiting for the captain to "leap".

but, in the mirror darkly was a pretty nice episode.

for my money, ds9 was the best.

I too liked Enterprise. Didn't LOVE it like DS9, but would have watched a few more seasons. I just hope for a new, quality series sometime soon.

Enterprise was actually pretty good...

...but only in it's final year, and only until the finale came along. You know what made the difference, we've talked it to death.

Not going to debate over if the series was bad or not (I personally liked it, and find some of the reasons to hate it retarded), but that was a funny video, Having seen the entire series of Enterprise, and many MacGuyver episodes, I can appreciate the humor behind it.

I agree with Dreamer 2.0.

I also think that the producers thought they could get away with a standard similar to that of Voyager. By the time they realized that they needed to be better, it was too late.

I think if Manny Coto had started from the beginning with the same standards used in season 4, the picture could have been much different. But alas, that was not to be.

One of the biggest things that got me was that excuse for a ship!.... what an insult to ST fans......Like they went from that to Kirks star ship.....sorry but I just couldn't get past it, that and trips relationship with T'pol ....I agree ...kinda strange.

But the WORST part was the lack of originality and new situations....TIME TRAVEL!......what ...again?!.....Noooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!

B&B killed ST slowly and painfully while we watched in horror.

And that final episode was like having watched a wound slowly heal, only to have some idiot come by and punch you in it and rip the stitches open.

Enterprise was not Trek

Wasn't it a sad few years.....We watch ST and SW fall apart and get worse each and every time.

My 2 cents worth. I thought Enterprise was a fair show. Granted, it didn't meet some expectations when compared to other Trek related media, however, it was better when compared to a lot of the non-Trek shows at the time.

I would have liked to seen the show get into the Romulan-Earth war rather than the Xindi. I support Trip/T'Pol since it began other Terran/Vulcan marriages such as Spock's parents. The Enterprise wasn't so bad. It set the basic foundation of how Starfleet ships would be built. It's easy to imaging an engineering section being added to the NX01 to create the TOS Enterprise. I would have also liked to see the show explore more of the other races and their status at that time. We got to see a lot of the Klingons but little of the romulan society and their view towards Humans leading to the war. I also would have liked to see more of the development of the Federation.

Thought this was kind of cool. I loved watching Mac Guyver when I kid.
Got to agree with some of the posts here, never really warmed to Enterprise. Obvious continuity-canon problems. A ship that important, called Enterprise and never mentioned in any of the other series? Don't think so. Could have just named the ship something else. The Xindi, time travel etc, etc, etc, should have just done Earth-Romulan war, formation of the Ferderation etc, instead of trying to meet all the races that other crews were supposed to meet for the first time!
Anyhow, I'm just an old fashioned boy,TOS, TNG, DS9, after that I began to lose interest. Could it be there was TOO MUCH Trek out there, running out of fresh ideas?

Actually, if they'd named her something different (Columbia? Discovery? Endeavour?) and not had quite so many VERY important "firsts' happen to the crew, half my complaints would never have happened.

We'd have still had the crappy writing, though.
